I live in Madrid and on the 1st of June It was simply amazing, can't explain with words how incredible and passionate LFC supporters behaved that day. Never seen anything like this before, in any of Real Madrid celebrations. You're such a special club and for me, the best supporters un the world. Your anthem is not just a football anthem, its a life anthem. This beautiful melody will never get old :)

Gerry used to come down our street where I lived near Blackpool when on holiday to visit his cousins Donald and Christine Reeves who lived a few doors away from me , and we used play footie with him and his brother Fred down the street

RIP Gerry. my condolences to his family and friends. every year i used to take my son, for his birthday, to see the 1960s acts. Gerry was our favourite and one of the best nights ever was when Gerry thanked my son who has cerebral palsy and is non verbal for going to the gig, he sang YNWA and dedicated it to him. We held our Liverpool scarf aloft. i was so sad and shed a tear when i heard he'd passed. Thank you Gerry for such wonderful memories. x

I married my first wife who was from Gateacre, a true Scouser, spent 29 year together. My second wife only managed to visit Ron's Pub, Houston, just once before she passed away unexpectedly in her sleep in March 2014, after just 5 years. I met Bruce Grobbelaar a week later, who gave me hope to survive. A year later I met Ronnie Whelan, and despite so much cancer (Prostate cancer, Leukemia x 3, plus numerous skin cancer lesions) that I had to this date, I still survive and still shed tears with this song. Now I still support 100% the Liverpool Supporters club of Houston, the Houston Kopites. YNWA.

What an era to be in apart of the Mersey brat scene in the 1960’s. I bet to his last breath Gerry was so happy the Beatles turned down “How do you do it”. Walk on and Ferry cross the Mersey will be forever remembered. Don’t let the Sun Catch you crying was my favourite track of his.
