About the Film
Part classical, part avant-garde, part flamenco - the legendary piano duo Katia and Marielle Labèque are impossible to label. The documentary film "The Labèque Way" follows these unique artists as they trace their Basque roots, playing Ravel´s Bolero with traditional Basque percussion, premiering a daring new concerto “Nazareno” which they had commissioned, and participating in diverse artistic and personal adventures.
Featuring performances of famous music by The Beatles, Mozart, Schubert, Ravel, Albeniz, Golijov and Gershwin. With appearances by Sir Simon Rattle, Alessandro Baricco, Thierry Biscary, Jamixel Bereau, Paxkal Indo, Mayte Martín, David Chalmin, Nadeah Miranda, Nicola Tescari, Fabio Recchia, Raphael Séguinier, Massimo Pupillo, Guillaume Loubère and Semyon Bychkov.
