How did you like the combo? I almost bought it but I already have an older blower and didn’t find it necessary even though that new has a lot better CFMs of air movement over my newly 10 year old Rigid blower. Thanks for watching and commenting. I even used mine today when trimming the lawn after cutting the grass.
*Love Ridgid 18v especially the grinder and 3/8 impact wrench, but the top edge of the string hub jams with even light weeds over 14". I have 6-7 batteries for a big yard, and in one 2A cycle it jammed twice. Great for 6" grass though.*
Liked the video-The knife to cut the string -flip it around for longer/shorter cuts. The Metal piece I think is to feed the string through the end through the cut head.
@@MCFIXIT This pin is a tool that will allow you to remove the bump feed head if needed. There is a hole in the head that you would insert this pin into. It will also insert into a washer inside of there which will keep the insides from turning so that you can unscrew the bump feed head from the string trimmer.
Mine came with an orange loopy thing. Looks like it has something to do with feeding the string but no explanation or mention of it in the book, just like the metal pin.
I used it yesterday. It’s holding up very well! It does use up some battery but I have a lot of rigid tools. It goes through about 1 full 6ah batteries for my yard 1/4 acre that’s fenced (both sides) and edging in my driveway and sidewalks.
Thanks for the comment. I am planning on doing a video once I run out of string. This things lasts a long time before having to refill the spool. I'll keep your suggestion in mind for future reviews! Have a great day!
@@MCFIXIT I figured it out. Putting it away for winter, I of course couldn’t find the manual when I pulled it out for spring. Unlike my older gas powered trimmer, you don’t remove the head to replace line. You feed one long single piece of string through the holes and crank the orange knob to wind it onto the spool. It was so simple, I couldn’t figure it out, never expecting it to be that easy. My older trimmer, you had to cut two pieces of string, take off the head, anchor the two sections of string, then wrap them manually. Still can’t believe no one showed that in a review. The removal of the head on the Ridgid is only for untangling. I did have to do that later and found it was more difficult to unlock and put back on than I think it should be. Maybe it’s just mine. Have a good one.
Read the instructions on how to add more string. It’s super easy and quick but much different than other makes and models. I meant to make a video the last time I had to restring it but it was dark and would not have turned out very well.
@@MCFIXITplease do, I’m having a hell of a time getting the spool back on trimmer. The locking things make no sense to me. About to return, think it’s defective.
Nothing against Ridgid tools, whatever. I've used and own some of which YOUR action demonstration is a put off and failure if i was to be an inexperienced customer
