USAF Desert Storm. I just want to share I received an unexpected letter yesterday. Without my knowledge, the VA review my case and determined my rating as 100% total and permanently disabled. Does that mean I don't have to worry about C & P's anymore? I have to say the state of Massachusetts's VA programs are some of the best. They have really taken care of me and guided me through the process. I only encountered one individual that really needs to find another job. He was very sketchy and full of ego.

CONGRATULATIONS! If you're 100% P&T, your rating should never change. If you do have current claims in progress, the VA won't stop them, however.

I was rated 💯 percent back in 2016 due to hearing loss, tinnitus and Meniere’s. The episodes of vertigo I have sometimes drains all my energy. If I could be whole with no ailments I’ll gladly give back the 💯 percent rating. However unfortunately there is no fix or cure for Meniere’s so it’s with me for life. ✌🏾

Question, how did you get diagnosed with Ménière’s? Like what was your process to be able to claim with an actual diagnoses?
@skip2it426-
@skip2it426- Год назад
It all started out with tinnitus and hearing problems. My private ENT Doctor stated I might have Meinere’s. So I went to the VA and went through the process of being examined for my hearing and tinnitus. The VA Doctor determined the same. From that point I filed a claim with evidence to back up from the symptoms and sick call records I had while on active duty. In addition I researched and read other similar claims. I hope this helps you ✌🏾.

Yes they examined inside my ears. When they sent me out for a C&P it was a private Doctor. He was very old and meticulous. The exam took almost 3 hours. But it was well worth it. ✌🏾

Came across this video, very interesting. Im 10% for tinnitus . I have told my v.a. doctor about my vertigo and she even said i may have menieres but the v.a. doesnt want to hear about it. I have vertigo about 3 to 4 times a day and the confusing dizzy spells that is not vertigo where i cant mentally focus on conversations and such daily also. I went to an advocate and they werent interested in hearing about it because they said it had to be service connected so that went nowhere. I've all but givin up and just be happy about my 10% because nobody will listen. My longest episode of severe vertigo that threw me out of bed lasted a week.i have migranes about 12 times a month randomly. Im a mechanic and this has made my working life pretty tough to do but i have no choice but to work. I thought i was alone with this but im glad to see this video. Dan U.S. CAVALRY 1986-1990

Family doc, ENT, Michigan ear institute, University of Michigan, Wayne State University of oncology, and a trip to Chicago to see the guru of ear problems, before a final diagnosis. Thanks VA Claims Insider You don't find a lot of info on this claim.

I am service connected for tinnitus and hearing loss. I have an open (2nd) supplemental appeal for Meniere's and vestibular migraines. I have my C-file and it appears someone lost my STR. I have retained an attorney who attempted to SC secondary to tinnitus. My C and P examiner opined that both were(due to my service-connected tinnitus) BVA requested that she revisit her rational as it was not clear. They asked her for an addendum. They ask her if my Meniere's was "a correction of, a progression of, or a different diagnosis of the service-connected Tinnitus?" She stated it was a "correction of" the service-connected Tinnitus and Tinnitus and migraines are secondary to Meniere's. This sounds like she service connected me for Meniere's...I think... Any thoughts?? I am at 140 days with my appeal. Also, note it took me about a year in 2011 to be diagnosed with Meniere's and Migraine's. It is a process of elimination and many tests at different places. I also had Endolymphatic sac decompression surgery in early 2012 and am disabled via SSD since 2012.

@benk4881 yes I did. So I filed vertigo they denied, claimed it wasn't in my service records. Mean time I applied for my C file im still waiting on that to arrive but...... I went to a exam a week ago and the examiner was so kind to go over my in service treatment records. I told her everything about what was going on with my records how they told me they were lost and nothing was noted in service. Well this lady said bs I'm looking at 600 pages of all of those issues and it's well documented and diagnosed. Fast forward to today I have a appointment with ent next week for balance test next month hearing test and something else in April all thru a private doc specifically looking at meniere's. So I'm basically at square 1 but using private docs. It's frustrating but that cp examiner was a life saver I really thought I was sol. But I'm getting that hundo one way or another no matter how much they fight I now know everything in my file its a matter of time now! BTW the vertigo cp exam got denied but they diagnosed bppv which I'm like what isn't that vertigo, but I researched bppv it's part of meniere's so maybe they blessed me.

If you’re a veteran and your military service caused an injury or illness (or aggravated pre-existing conditions), you could qualify for a disability rating. Several criteria are needed to win a claim for a VA disability rating: You served in the military and have eligible military service. You have a medical diagnosis of your disability condition. Your disability was caused or made worse by your military service Current symptoms of your disability are active in present day. The severity of your condition (under the VA’s schedular rating system) will determine the percentage of your disability rating.
