Cott plays Donny, a World War II vet who returns home from the frontlines mentally scarred after losing his best friend, and he decides to enter a songwriting competition that could bring him fame and fortune. Osnes takes on the role Julia, the war widow of Donny's pal. She joins forces with the aspiring tunesmith to create unbeatable melodies.
