I'm learning so much from your videos and even more from the daily challenges. Those are invaluable practice. It's easy to say you want to practice, but coming up with something to design for practice can be half the challenge in itself. Also thanks for dropping a like on the challenge designs I posted on Twitter earlier. I hope you enjoyed the designs.
Lovely! I do think maybe top designers care too much about spacing and using 8pts... I don't think is the spacing that makes level 5 level 5 I think is a mix a lot of things, but mainly challenging traditional expected layouts
I’m halfway through your Boring UI course and I love it! It’s very useful and I highly recommend it ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I know there are several free pre-made community libraries and design systems out there but it is important to know how to create those UI elements to avoid using random stuff other people created and hope it’s perfect. Hi! There is no one right way to start, but for most people it's : mobile courses --> web courses --> boring ui --> portfolio bundle courses --> everything else :)
As usual thanks for the best UX content out there.. but I do have one quick question about portfolio case studies if you could please answer for me… How many screens do you recommend including into case studies. I know a recruiter goes through portfolios so fast, so wondering should we include the most essential screens or literally every screen possible..
Use the UI Sandwich rule (I talk more about it in my UI Case Study course) - in short - show 2-3 best screens at the top of the case study visual, 2-3 other best screens at the very end, and somewhere in the middle you can show a huge grid of all screens (but smaller) to show you did a lot of work.
Thank you again for the amazing content, Michal. I have a question: Will you ever release a course that includes explanations of the "Auto-layout" mechanic? I'm struggling a lot with responsive breakpoints, as I haven't really learned about that yet.
I wouldn't use auto-layout for responsive breakpoints actually - it's better to design them by hand as very often each breakpoint requires a slightly different approach. But yes, we are working on Boring UI part 2 which will be all about Auto Layout in more than one design tool.
@@MalewiczHype As always, thank you for your response. Yes, that's what I'm doing! However, which software should I use to translate the breakpoints that I've designed manually? I'm currently using Framer, but the responsiveness doesn't seem to work when I manually add the breakpoints that I designed in Figma. I believe that some auto-layout functionality is needed to make it work. Perhaps Framer isn't the right software for publishing my design. I am trying to evolve my profile and become proficient in a no.code platform or maybe I should try to learn a coding language? I dont know what to do to do. Sorry for the long context. It kind of depends on the color, some colors are more prone to eye-strain than others. Sadly it's more about eyeing it as long as you're above the minimum threashold already.

The guidelines for material are on Google's website. You can probably also download a UI kit there, but I encourage everyone to try and come up with their own UI first :)
That depends. We try to avoid OS specific designing - I find "native" looking apps boring, so unless it's some special scenario, we always do a completely custom design from scratch - one that matches the product.
Hi I'd love to see the bad design first and then see the final design. Seeing final design at first killed my interest and I stopped watching the video just half way in the level 4.
2 years have passed and I still consider you the best UI teacher on the market :) It's hard for me to say what level I am at, sometimes better, sometimes worse. But now, as a Product Designer on a freelance basis, I look at the whole picture and develop myself on various levels. Thanks to you, I feel confident in UI skills. Thank you for everything 🫶
Yeee... It could be better, but well... I'm comfortable enough with e.g. typography that I'm using two typefaces instead of one, but when I feel that one typeface suits the best... then I stick to one.@@MalewiczHype
Hi Michal I recently purchased your Ultimate Course Bundle by using my dad's email address, But, I can't access all the course material. It shows that videos are unavailable. I tried to login using password and magic link both, but none of them worked. I also mailed you regarding this. Kindly Help. Thanks.
If your dad purchased it in the same country you're now trying to access there shouldn't be an issue. What you can try is to restart your computer as in some cases it's a caching issue in the browser when it's running for too long. If that doesn't work try a different browser and/or using a VPN or turning it off if you're using one.
@@MalewiczHype Thanks for the reply. I tried all the methods you suggested but it's not working. When I first log in into hype4academy through my dad's email, one course material gets accessible. But when I refresh the page, or try to go into other courses, it shows video unavailable.
try refreshing the page a couple times or using a different browser. This error happens to less than 1% of users and in most cases just a refresh or restart resolves it.
