btw if you don't see hardware acceleration turn off "Use graphics acceleration when avaliable" it has pretty much the same effect.

Would it be harmful to record literally 2 seconds worth of clips for things like edits? Like would it be risky law-wise?

Nah. I’ve never had an issue with a clip that short. I do it all the time. But I’m no lawyer, and this isn’t legal advice!

I just found out how to fix if its not working, Instead of searching up herdware accel, go in the settings like he did in the video then instead of typing, look at the left and click on system. They renamed it to graphic acceleration. When you turn it off, you need to restart chrome. Hope that helps!

Dear Trevor, it's Bo again from Colombia. I have a question: Is there a difference between downloading and reusing content compared to recording yourself with a screencast and reusing that? Does it have anything to do with "ContentID"?

That won’t matter. Contant ID doesn’t care how you got it, just that you are using it without consent. but as I cover in lots of these videos, as long as it’s short, five seconds, or less, content ID doesn’t usually care. You may, or may not be able to get away with longer clips, it depends, largely on how much the copyright holder cares. Always upload unlisted first, and wait for content ID to do its thing, before you make it public.

Ah ok I see, thank you for your feedback. I have other experiences, I even sometimes get Claim-ID, for a video that has only 2-3 seconds (sport events). I even show less important scenes, even than! But if I additionally use filters or effects it increases the chance not to get claim-ID. Thank you again and my best wishes I get less and less claim-ID

How can you record computer audio on mac?

If you just need the audio from a video, you can use the app I have linked in the description (snapdownloader) to download, say, a RU-vid video, but set the format to MP3 so you get just the audio. If it's NOT a video, just audio, you can use a screen recorder like Camtasia, and choose the record just the audio. There are other cheaper options than Camtasia I'm sure, but I haven't researched them.

Have you tried using Chrome with hardware acceleration off? It will also depend on the screen recorder. Camtasia works, but it's $300.

You can, but I think the AI is smart enough to know you just mirrored it. Plus, it can hear the video too, so I don't think that'll fool it. Check out my videos on Fair Use to see how much you can get away with!

If you're entire video is movie clips you'll likely have trouble getting monetized and may have issues with copyright claims or strikes. I'd avoid that. Try to use only SHORT clips to avoid issues. I stick with 5 seconds or less, but you can test going a bit longer.

You can download the entire video, imported into CapCut, right, click, and separate the audio. I think the app has a free version, but the version is totally worth it. I use it just about every day.

Isn't that a definition of piracy? If in court you would be asked "did you consider pieces of videos you used in you video a fair use" and you said "yes" what would you reply for "how did you accuared video material used in your videos?" Of course it's always a matter of algorithms and how are they tuned by copyright holder and if they care of not, but it doesn't look convincieng enought for me =( For the other and - there are thousands of video essays out there in youtube - how did all of them accuared videos from movies???? =/

If you have a video where you tell people how to do something, telling them not to do it won't protect you from legal trouble. Why? Because if it is extremely obvious that a piece of content has the intention of teaching someone how to do something, then putting in a "don't" is only seen as you trying to save your own skin. In other words, if something is actually illegal or wrong, don't teach people how to do it and then remove responsibility from yourself - which won't work anyway. If it is not illegal or wrong, then go for it.

Camtasia is pretty much useless since movies are mostly recorded in 24fps and Camtasia can‘t record at that framerate, only at 25fps, so the clip looks terrible, unless your blind or try to make cash with an affiliate link

Hmmm.. I've recorded a ton and have had no issues with Camtasia having trouble converting frame rates.
