GET AWAY TO GALIANO
Two things... I am lowkey a ~little~ bored of just making UBC videos. I know it's helpful but I've got to try and keep things exciting! Also, with physical distancing, COVID and all, I've been missing my little travel adventures.
Last year my friends and I went for a little backpacking trip on Galiano Island which is a gulf island just off the coast of Vancouver Island. It's only about an hour away making it the perfect place for a quick trip to go and explore! It was such a beautiful and memorable trip and I just wanted to be able to share some of it with you guys!
Hopefully this gives you a taste of what some of BC is like! For so many of you this will become your new home either now or in the near future. It's such a beautiful place to be - I can't wait for you to be able to explore it!

Hii !! I had something to ask you , I feel computer engineering at Ubc is very competitive , I scored 88 percent in grade 10 , 89.20 in 11th and 82.4% in 12th , and when i check ubc's computer engineering they say 85 percent was the minimum average in the past years . I have studied outside of canada and I am a domestic Student feel really worried regarding my chances of admission at ubc ? Can u plz guide me

Hi! Yes computer engineering is a challenge for sure. Depending on where you studied outside of Canada, UBC may or may not scale your grades. So that might help you out, but a strong personal profile will definitely help! I can’t tell you what your exact chances are because I don’t know how the whole system works. But so long as you apply, you have a chance. To my knowledge, you don’t apply directly into computer sciences - you start in first year in general sciences and then apply to your major. Is there an engineering stream for computer sciences? It might work a bit differently.

@@MaddyA Thank u soo much , Yeah there is a common 1st year for all , does ubc accept midterms and other grades of high school

@@indiansecrets3879 To my knowledge UBC only looks at your high school grades. If you were in IB, or followed an alternate curriculum, there are different ways they assess you but I am not too sure what those are. Your main goal for right now would be getting into sciences (they will use your high school grades). When you apply for your major, they look at your first year science grades, not high school. They only consider your grade 11 and 12 grades, not grade 10. In terms of other exams, UBC doesn't specifically look at your exam grade unless, in whatever curriculum you are a part of, your exam grade is your final grade. Does that kind of make sense?

@@MaddyA Thanks for all the valuable information you provided me 😇😇 . Yeah you are right in every sense UBC kind of gives personal profile equal importance .
