The best thing that works for me (and would work with this regimen as well) Is to steam my hair after I diffuse it. I suffer from this flat root issue myself and my roots for some reason like to pretend that they are wavy. The steam makes the roots curl up really well and makes all of the curls form into their tightest natural shape. I use a portable clothes steamer but I have seen people use face steamers as well. The steam not only forms the curls better but it also moisturizes the hair too. I often use the steam to refresh my hair after sleeping on days 2, 3, and 4 as well and it works great. Make sure you have enough product in your hair to keep it from frizzing with the steam, and make sure that you steam it well enough so the steam gets to all of the strands. Also be very careful that you do not burn yourself 🙂
if you air dry like me, use a claw clip to gather the hair near your part! or shower close to bed time and plop your hair into a bonnet. that way it dries while you sleep and it is not drying flat
For a long time I liked that my roots were acutally flat, but right now I see that my hair grew so much and because of that it's way heavier and so less curly i guess? Have you ever seen something like that on your hair?
