If prepped and painted properly then the paint will hold up perfectly fine by itself! If you want to add extra protection and change the sheen, we recommend using one of our new finishers, Angelus 4-Coat.
All it takes is proper prep and application. When prepping the area, we suggest using our Angelus Deglazer or Acetone to remove the factory paint/finish. This will allow Angelus paint to adhere better to the surface. Also, applying several thin coats of paint rather than one or two thick coats will help a lot more. No additives are needed when painting on leather. 2-Hard is only to be used on plastic or non porous surfaces. Hope this helps!
Question - for the Angelus "Finisher" - do I need to paint finisher on the entire shoe or just the painted areas? Also - should I add Angelus "Duller" to the finisher....I do not want shiny shoes! I added "duller" to the colors I used and it came out nice and matte. Is one thin coat good enough? Thanks SO much!
You only need the finisher on the areas painted. However, if you used duller, do not use finisher. It defeats the purpose since you then cover the paint. We do have a 4-Coat FLAT finish that is FLAT. You can apply that after any Angelus paint color you use and still have that flat look.
Did I miss the part where you explained how to get even coverage with no more brush strokes? Oh wait no I didn’t cause that shit was never explained 👍🏼
Gorgeous shoes. I have seen someone else say that you should always mix it with a fuller to have that professional quality are you using the acrylic matte to achieve that quality?
No, it's really not necessary. Just make sure to shake the matte finisher really, really well before using it. Apply light coats and use a heat gun or hair dryer and this should help give it the matte look you are going for.
Hi there Angelus Shoe Polish.I love your channel and watch and learnt a lot from it. i am a young aspiring artist who wants to start custom making strictly nike airforces, but the truth is i cannot afford these angelus paints or brushes right now.Down here where i am from in west africa getting a job is one of the hardest tasks a young man or woman can go through., and i have waited enough to get a job. i want to appeal for aid to get some custom work supplies. so i can start something on my own with mny God given talent. i'd very much appreciate it if you can reply back to me sometime. Thanks!
This always depends on personal preference. Each finisher will give it a specific sheen. For Nike AF1's you can really use any of them you prefer. Matte is the more popular ones for AF1's.
just a general question. if you but down all the factory finish from the shoe and but at the end just a finish over the paint layer not the whole shoe, isn't bad for the shoe? =)
No, for leather all you need is to prep the surface with acetone and then apply light coats straight from the bottle. If you have any more questions feel free to contact us at Info@angelusshoepolish.com
