In the fourth episode of Pursuit of the Podium, I delve into five key elements that propelled me to break the sub-5-hour Ironman 70.3. These tactics have remained integral to my training regimen, resulting in consistent time reductions. Consistency, purposeful training, optimal nutrition for training and race day, race simulation, transition practice, and a strong mindset collectively improved my speed and skills as a triathlete.
Pursuit of the Podium is the second season of the Daily Cadence series! This series follows Chris over the next 12 weeks as he trains for Ironman 70.3 Morro Bay in May to go sub-4:38 and take a top 5 spot on the podium in his age group. His goal is to train like a professional triathlete, which is a commitment that goes beyond swimming, biking, and running workouts; it requires a detailed approach to visualization, fueling, diet, recovery, sleep, race routine, mental strength, and a strong support system.
