17:45 Machalcon is speedor and Bear-RV (yellow engine) delinquent son, who thanks to the Gokaigers became an apprentice pirate and helped them and became his own version of a hero. Which why I wished they made a Gokaigers reference in the show as Machalcon has never really mentioned unless it is in relation to the Gokaigers.
Engine sentai go onger's go on red is actually a racer. He is one of the funniest sentai members and I am glad they returned his funny antics, like the time when he acts like he will save boonboomger but ended up getting the sandles too. Sousuke (go on red) is a very reckless guy who doesn't think before acting and also believes a lot in his luck. He flips his same coin in almost every episode of go onger. It is only because of his recklessness that he was able to move with that heavy sandles. Also when sousuke told the kid, "smile smile." It actually is a reference to go on yellow because go on yellow is the one to cheer up and tell people to smile even when all is lost. Some people think sousuke is not that great and instead is an idiot but not to forget, he is also a sentai member and that too red of a team. And one more thing machalcon is the son of speedor and bearv (go on yellow's engine partner/ the yellow zord). Please don't ask me how is it possible because I was shocked too.
Engine biology must be wild. Machalcon wasn't even 5 years old by the time it was introduced and it was already fully grown. Not to mention his genetics made it so that he could combine with the Gokaiger Mech. It must be a nightmare how the dna figures out what part of a combining robot you become when you're born a sentient car-robot
I don't think people realize that even though Sousuke can be an idiot sometimes, he is historically THE most qualified car themed Ranger ever. The man was a NASCAR racer, he's not just a lucky idiot.
@@shade_zz1585 trust me but I don't think sousuke as idiot, just because he is funny doesn't mean he is an idiot. He is a really good sentai that is serious when it comes to fulfilling his duties as a sentai member
No kidding.... i watch Go-onger since i was 11 to 12 years old and the fact that Sousuke still look the same suprise me.(minus the anime hair dye)...it been like what, more then 10 years ago?
The feeling of Father Time racing past us probably will get worse on the feeling old part if they do a 20 Years After Go-Onger movie in 2028 and we find out that Speedor is now a grandpa with Machalcon’s kid zipping around.
3:53 Love the fact that Mira said that Sousuke and Speedor's partnership is similer to Taiya and Bundorio's partnership...and we get to agree on that exact fact 14:19 Satoshi and Lucario *Speedor's voice actor voiced Lucario in Pokemon movie 8* in Sentai world 18:13 Taiya and Bundorio, best friends and partners ever since they first met
When Sousuke says “Smile Smile” to the kid, that’s what yellow used to say when things got tough. So he picked things up from his team. Go-Onger was the first sentai I found. Actually it was the Gekiranger vs Go-Onger movie on RU-vid but then I watched the Go-Onger series afterwards. It’s so good. And if you like Boonboomger, I think you’ll like it too. The characters are so different from RPM that it doesn’t even feel like it’s a shared series. But it’s also good on its own.
Our Sixth Member is on the horizon. And you guys would lose it when one of the greatest but severely underrated Sentai team makes their comeback..Ressha Sentai ToQger. Can't wait to see that team up episode.
Don't just say watch kanzen gokai oh, they just gonna watch the Robo gattai, they're not gonna understand anything about machalcon, they have to watch the full episode to understand
rpm is a soulless go-onger, the zords lost the ability to talk and interact and bond with the rangers engine and change souls became just a cell or battery (this happens to kyoryuger/dino charge too)
Alright explanation time for some of the plot holes for this eps tbh to fill it you just need to watch Go-onger but okay here we go 1.the engine aka Go-onger zord they are completely sentient as you can see but not only that they can destroy a barrier and then travel to another dimension so that why speedor can join the chase with the other boonbomger 2.im gonna explain the whole cgi thing and the stock footage for engine oh. Why they use cgi for the mecha scene is probably because the they don't have the suit for engine oh either the suit is broken or the suit is missing 3.machfalcon is the son of speedor and bear rv (yeah the red engine and yellow engine is married) Also about dimension in Go-onger they are eleven dimension in Go-onger such as 1human/dino world 2machine world 3junk world 4samurai world 5sound world 6 stormy world 7magic world 8 Christmas world 9 prism world 10 grass world 11 gun man world
The vehicles from go-ongers are actually sentient since they hail from an alternate universe known as machine world, and they can actually organically mate and reproduce as well.
Loved this episode, it really captures the vibes of Go Onger. Sosuke immediately falling into the enemy's trap and somehow pushing through it is the most Sosuke thing you can think of. There was an emphasis on Partners this episode which was pretty what Go Onger was about. Its very cute. A cool fact about the Engines like Speedor is that they're able to cross into other worlds. Which is likely how Speedor was able to make it to Rainbow Road. Reading through the comments I can see people have explained who Machalcon is. Im just happy he was mentioned at all. I love the acknowledgment of the lore this episode! I actually do hope this episodes leads to a Go Onger x Boonboomger movie. The previous sentai King Ohger did one with Kyoryuger (Dino Charge).
Great reaction as always! Go-Onger is up there with my favorite seasons of Sentai, and it's a testament to this episode that so much of that show's flavor was able to come through. (RPM has an almost polar opposite tone to the show.) A lot of lore drops too, which I'm sure the other comments will cover. Can't wait for this weekend :)
16:27, that Zord fight...it really needed this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1Ykb1NN3Smg.html I know it's a different season but I got goosebumps from this. Nice to see the Engine-Oh again. I only know Go-Onger thanks to RPM but man, seeing Sousuke again is just great. Plus, the actor's got his own RU-vid channel. Also, this song goes well with them revving up vehicle Robos and Megazords alike.
I wish that we had the actual suit for Engine-Oh for this fight scene, but fortunately, it's general design allows for it to be CGI'd without looking butt fugly. lol
Damn.. Power Rangers is lack the charms of Super Sentai Crossover so much... I love many season of power rangers (Include RPM) but one of the weakest point of power rangers is they can't bring the truly heart of tokusatsu genre. This episode of Boonboomger is a good example. They respect Sousuke as a legendary sentai and put everything we love about him in one episode. Why power rangers can't do something like this? (Once & Always is cool, but i can't feel anything. It's just another loop of "MMPR tribute" we see over and over alongs 30 years.)
I don't know how well you know Go Onger. But what you're talking about is that Disney adapted it. It doesn't honor the original Sentai. To see Sentai senior characters appear is a must to see. Shane Goonger You have to go see and study the information. Because I only see you watching Power Rangers. that Disney bought and created
I like the sentai better than the power rangers crap look at power rangers Dino thunder the Dino’s talk but here in the use they were bunch of dumb Dino’s and then rpm all the mechs where just vehicles but in engine sentai the engines talk except for the last 3 just made animal noises
Seeing as no one mention this fun fact, Imma say it: In BBG, every single enemy general are named after Car movies. So we have: - Madrex: Mad Max (yes, Toei acknowledge this) - Cannonborg: Cannon Ball and the main big bad: Waruido Spindo is based on Wild Speed aka Japanese Localization of FAST AND FURIOUS (like Gojira and Godzilla). Yes, Dom Toretto is the main villain of BBG.
I think it's 13, The Bad Luck of the Bunbumgers and the 14th episode called Shashiro's Mistake, where he helps BonBon Aori become a Killer Boon and be a Madrex
I hoped this episode would be a *bit* more referential, there were a lot of things they could have commented on, like Carrigator and the 'Geta geta' bit, both Go-On Black and Bun Black being cops. The team of 3 expanding into a team of 5. There are plenty of similarities. But for one self-contained episode it is very good for newcomers and doesn't spoil anything. Two curiosities for this: - Sousuke's actor, Furuhara Yasuhisa, was a *big* Dragon Ball fan and he would sneakly get his hair more and more spiked up to mimic a Super Saiyan thorugh out the series. He admited so in a tweet recently after Toriyama's passing. Sousuke really comes with shonen protag energy not just because of how he's written, but also because of how Yasuhisa chooses to play him. - Machalcon is the 13th Engine, that was introduced in Gokaiger (it was also present in Super Megaforce as the Turbo Falcon Zord). He's Speedor's son after a timeskip. This one is the deepest cut reference they've made this episode.
PS: I wonder how hard it would have been to have gotten Engine Rap BoonBoom Version. The Engine Rap, with all parts put together is something like 40 minutes long already. It would have been a great gag.
It was a nice surprise to see Sosuke and Speedor again. Go-oonger is another Vehicle themed Sentai only sillier but not as silly as Carranger which is a parody of Sentai.
I just wish you guys have more knowledge more about sentai, it just kind of annoying to continously hear RPM getting mentioned, give GO ONGER ( the OG ) some respect
"Neji" roughly translates to "Twisted" so basically, you can say the henchmen (Nejiretta) roughly translate to something like "Twisters", kinda like how you twist screws using a screwdriver. It's also the reason why in Megaranger, the sentai equivalent of the Psycho Rangers from In Space are called "Nejirangers", roughly meaning "Twisted Rangers", referring to their psychotic, twisted, evil personalities.
Go-Onger was brought about by Bandai’s decision to capitalize on Pixar’s Cars, as the diecast mini cars of that franchise were selling big bucks at the time. Of course they didn’t want to blatantly rip it off and did their own take on talking cars using a mix of various ideas including Gatchaman II’s mecha designs with the faces with Speedor based partially on Joe the Condor’s second car from that show. The core theme of the show was “ecology vs. pollution” as the heroes protected Earth from pollution loving mechanical villains that were conquering other dimensions. I do remember the Blue Ranger was always writing down notes on the monsters that helped in battle and the team were well fed by him with his 100 or so ways of cooking eggs. XD
MontyVerse and Nicki, That was a fantastic reaction of episode 12 of BoonBoomger. Also, It was awesome when the BoonBoomger Rangers teamed up with the RPM Red Ranger. Also, Both Megazords teamed up against Geta Grumer. Also, A Question for you and Nicki, Are you looking forward to the reaction of episode 13 of BoonBoomger next week.
