I started playing around after 6 months of the official release what got me into it is I saw penguin logistics vid and speed of light and thought it was an anime and looked it up Found out it wasn't an anime (well it's gonna be soon) but was actually a game and what's more is that it's a tower defense game I really like strategy based games even though I'm small brain and I love the tower defense genre so I got instantly hooked Ended up being my most favorite gacha
I almost make a mistake of dropping the game when im still chapter 2. In ch2 the game still feel meh, the story not that interesting either. I almost drop the game but i choose to atleast reach ch3 before dropping it. And man, thank god i didnt drop it before reaching ch3, the gameplay start to become interesting for me with the difficulty spike in ch3. Before ch6 i dont really care about the story. And then when ch6 drop... I love his game even more because of the story that is getting better and better. If i have to be honest. The story is what make me still stick to this game for a whole 2 year and will be more. If it werent for the story i already stop playing a year ago.
Playing the game for 2 years was kinda nice experience, improving in the start and building up till you reached the endgame, and seeing in the memory lane again in arknights feels amazing. as a 2 years player in arknights, It feels good playing arknights with challenges, and being part of the ak community to talk with others ak players is such fun and making friends :D
DH EX 4 made the PVZ comparisons pretty valid :D Cheers, Neko. You were one of the most inspiring AK content creators for me because of your and Zeph's "I waste my resources so you don't have to" guides. I hope you're enjoying yourself no matter what you do, the fact that you continue to make AK content is reassuring since some people have left. Thanks for everything, hopefully AK will stay alive for many years yet!
Dude sometimes I just make like a very carefully planed strategy with many anticipation, but then the cutscenes rolls in and after reading I become braindead and forgot all my startegy.
your start is same as me lol.. stopped a lot of time because my gacha pulls was very "meh".. uninstall and reinstall a lot of times.. and finally I read guides on what good 6stars to start with.. and all is good at that point (also, IMO auto-repeater will kill the game.. I bet you're being lazy with base managements, letting those workers on the red for a long time lol).. also, the story is like novel, of course it is long.. the gameplay pretty short.. so if short story+short battle = short game lol..
I regretted uninstalling this game for a month because i didnt have any motivation to play it and it cost me of not having Flamebringer. 😭 Fortunately daddy Matterhorn's skin is released so i decided to install and play this game and never uninstalled it ever again 😳
It's been a good journey so far, I remember being introduced to the game by a friend just a few days after the release, I downloaded, played a bit, I wasn't hooked by the gameplay immediately but it was good enough, just that early game pale in comparison to what you can do later on. I remember pulling my first 5*, a Texas, and thinking "is this game going to use the name of real states for their ops? Really?" soon I learned that wasn't the case. In hindsight, the thing that clicked the most to me was the World building and the music from the original trailers for the game, in fact, I left a comment in one of the that is now the top comment(totally not a flex). But that aside, with those trailers somehow I felt like this game would be very special in time, I just needed to watch it grow. So I stick with it and here we are 2 years later and proud as fuck to be part of this community and an avid player, and I have this feeling that the most exciting parts of this journey are about to come, it's good to be an Arknights fan. Happy anniversary folks, I wish for many more years enjoying this fantastic game ❤.
I too downloaded the game in the first week then drop it after a day or so of playing and played Dragalia lost. Then I dropped Dragalia after a month or so of playing. Then I rediscover AK in the first week of May 2020 and downloaded it again. Still irritated at myself that I dropped the game without giving it the chance it deserve, almost 2 years of playing and I still don't have Exu who I really like.
Hey just wanted to say, good luck with your exams! I'm sure you'll pass them - we all will It was nostalgic hearing your story with arknights :> I am so glad that I have been dragged into Arknight community by a friend. I remember starting around the first time they opened the first CC. I didn't play much at first - finding the game not quite exiting, but I plaed and just like you've mentioned as the stages got harder It felt way more fun. The operator I wanted to get the most was Blue Poison - I knew I wanted to raise her the first time I saw her on the wiki - It was the first operator I e2'd and m3'd, and she's still a good help on many stages ^^
