Landlords often feel entitled to enter rented rooms whenever they want because it's "their house." They ignore the fact that once they rent out the room, tenants have a reasonable expectation of privacy.

It would have been a BIG NO to rent a room if I’d seen that landlord/defendant. Yikes!

I think the plaintiffs deserved all of February back: he prevented them from retrieving the items with the illegal lockout.

I rented a room that had this exact set-up. My landlord had two beautiful St. Bernards and he would walk through my room to put the dogs in the backyard instead of walking out the front door and open the gate. I lasted three months.

when people rented rooms 20 years ago and beyond , there was rarely a deposit required and if so it would be like 250 bucks . but in the last 10 years all these damn rooms for rent are requiring 1000 dollar deposits ! the whole point of renting a room used to be that u did not have to pay a deposit or pay a large deposit and u only had to pay the monthly rent for the room .

I know we shouldn't judge book by its cover, but there's no chance, I that after going to see an apartment, seeing this dude, hearing that he is going to live there too, AND learning that the access to kitchen is through my future room I would say yes. No chance.
