Maybelline and other big companies as long as I have been alive for commercials and ads for mascara have always had the model wear false eye lashes. Always. I am 50 years old and can promise you this. Mikayla is taking all the heat when in reality it's these makeup companies that need to apologize for the deceptive marketing to women for decades now. It's always been this way. Don't blame the model or influencers blame the companies. Go back and look for yourself at their own mascara commercials and ads

@@Willowtree82 not sure how your age plays into her credibility but I’ll play along-I am 53 and I am not sure if you follow her on TikTok and are aware that she does not disclose when she has been gifted something or when a video is an ad. This is blatant violation of FTC Guidelines. And when these make up companies uses false lashes in their commercials, they disclose it-the disclosure is on every single TV ad. Not to mention her use of filters which skews the results of the product she’s hawking and effectively dupes the viewer. Or that she obviously is buying followers because her subscriber count goes up by exactly 100k every few days-EXACTLY 100k for weeks now. It is a combination of things with her-very problematic. I choose to follow who is most aligned with my principles and I try to live my life with integrity. If she wants to use filters and false lashes more power to her, it’s her choice but at least be forthcoming and disclose when the law says you should and don’t double down and lie when your viewers ask you about it--check out the comments on that TikTok if she hasn’t dirty deleted them. What it comes down to is-I have the right to my opinion, as do you.

I'm not sorry to say this but I can not STAND Mikayla!! 🙄 She leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I use to be an avid follower of her but not anymore. I’m going to post this here too, Camera angles change everything, phones distort the face when your face is that close. We also can’t usually see her body and that also throws off the visuals. It’s a trick of the camera. She looks the same to me, you can especially tell in her videos where you can see her body. Although it is tilted again, at a flattering angle. I don’t see anything wrong with that.

She filters and ring lights herself to the point shes not even recognizable in real life while peddling products..she lies ABOUT products. She uses hot topic issues to her advantage and lies about donating money to a cause just to sell her eyeshadow collab pal when the sales dropped.. ok at this point I'm kinda pissed. why is everyone shitting on Mikayla? Like she posted a video after a tiring day and complained about her job as an influencer. Like why is everyone acting like we're all so mentally stable and we never just feel like complaining about how everything sucks after a bad day. I think most are actually talking about her without makeup cuz till a lot are shocked and surprised when seeing her with/without makeup but still people are also talking about about her use of features and filters. I compared a side to side on a split screen and I can’t see to much difference but I won’t ignore that there’s definitely some things (not to noticeably tbh) like her face in generally in filtered vids is typically more round and her face is smaller because of this, her lips usually are plumper (could be lip plumper but 🤷‍♀️) as well as these 2 that I’m less sure of but pretty sure. The filter usually also uses her chin not making it pointy or defined but ridding it of the slight shadow and double chin she has at certain angles (not hating but it just notably different in comparison. And last is pretty explanatory since it’s on practically every filter is the eyes. Now Idk eye types like that but you can tell from vids with/without filters remarkably show wider more doe eyes with and slimmer opening of her eyes (sorry don’t know how to explain that

My aunt lived outside of Boston, and she had quite the accent. “My dawter” “oh my Gahd hon” “cahr” she picked that dialect up after moving there, as she was born and raised in Kentucky. Our dialect is set by age 5.
