Same here, i live in northern California and on my land it's the hard red clay, and sand, and I'm having such a rough time growing grass, i don't know what kind of seeds to put down that will root in that hard clay, so either artificial turf or sod is sounding good to me
And let's not kid ourselves. It's not getting recycled and it's the equivalent of a million plastic straws. www.jackwallington.com/17-reasons-to-avoid-fake-lawns-how-bad-is-artificial-grass-for-the-environment/
Actually- I see where paths are mowed through rustic areas- He could sell to us country folks like that - Throw rugs through paths. Would really dig that turf through my potager - which has grass paths..
I look at laura’s yard a little differently now. I’m sure Linda realizes that her lawn is plastic and will eventually deteriorate into the atmosphere and soil..
I do but it won’t be for a very long time. Also, I took into consideration other ultimate disposables: the bags of fertilizer, lawn mower and gas to power it, and all other related environmental impacts like water use, etc. . I so appreciate your thinking through the issues🙏🙏.
I love it! It looks so natural. I have a friend that lives in Palm Springs and has it in her yard. Beautiful and worth the money in my opinion. Sending hugs prayers and kindness ❤️👍🏼🙏🏼
When I lived in the desert a lot of people had fake grass on their front lawn and it was no where near as beautiful as these! It was always shiny and so fake looking. It was nice to see some green in the distance but once you're walking by it lost all appeal. This stuff though looks like grass i could lay in (:
It took me a long time to realize LV's grass was artificial in videos. I have considered doing this because of severe drought in my area and it is better than patchy brown grass. Sounds weird, but think I'm going to over seed with microclover first and see how that goes.
I’ve had turf for yrs and I would love to remove it. It’s very hot in the summer you can’t walk barefoot on it it’s so hot. It’s like a carpet you have to to clean it like a carpet, it’s plastic folks horrible for the planet . It doesn’t matter how real it looks it’s still fake and bad for the environment. I paid more for the expensive stuff and now I hate the artificial turf. It is a lot of work I’d rather have native plants in my yard. I’m looking into removing mine.
I don't like to use chemicals and I don't have much lawn. I'd rather have plants. This could be a good option for me, for the little bit of lawn I have. I hope to be able to find it in my area. Thanks 👍
I find your turf gorgeous. I only wish! We live out of town a bit. Have had several cows, calves, 2 donkeys once, horses, you never know what might wander through. The wild hogs are rampant and have been 1/2 mile away but not here yet, fingers crossed they never make it here. I will never have a pretty lawn. BTW, you looked beautiful as always.
Really enjoyed hearing your insights Linda on this topic. You confirmed so much of what i thought about using artificial turf. The application of artificial turf in your gardens truly does look natural. Thank you for bringing on the expert as well. Really loved hearing about how the product is created and installed.
I have the lowest of the low end green outdoor carpets in a segment of my backyard (surrounding my pool). I love not mowing in that tight area and I’m ok with how it looks. This video has helped me appreciate the high quality option. Looking to save up and go with a premium product when I replace my current covering in a couple years.
Question: do squirrels try to dig in it to bury acorns? What happens if they do? We have our yard sprayed for mosquitoes and pests. Is this necessary for turf?
Hello! I live in Saskatoon, in the province of Saskatchewan in Canada. The oldest plastic turf that we installed about 5 years ago is still a 'grass'. Sure, it has lost a bit of lushness, is not as green as before because our land has a lot of Sun and right on our head. There could be another reason for the less lushness! We haven't really taken care of it. Next spring, I am planning to get one brush and help my turf to look like turf.
If the president of Oklahoma agricultural. Didn't know was artificial grass. Maybe he should not be holding the title of President of Agricultural I Oklahoma. 🤣
