We left our elite suburb to move to a small farming community and closed down our business....in our 60's!...It's never too late to start and learn. We learn new things every day, as do our nearby friends who have homesteaded for decades. I pray God will give you revelation in each step you take, and trust in Him. I love Country Living Experience because my husband and I can relate to everything he talks about. We started out small and stayed small. But we are purposing to do things like make our own medications, naturally. We turned out part of our home/property as income. As you go along, you will realize how resourceful you can be for many things. Don't wait, start now, start small but start with anything. Even if it's growing something for food, whether inside your house or outside if you're in a "warm year round" climate. Enjoy!

Melodyfordham7878, I'm 68 & I feel the same way. I live on the edge of a medium size town. I have a good-sized yard with a beautiful 12'x16' chicken coop & a small greenhouse. My old house is paid for & I drive an old '06 Ford Explorer. I don't owe a penny for anything, thankfully. I have 6 hens, 2 meat rabbits & a rescue bunny & 3 rescue dogs. I have a garden. My oldest son works 2 miles from my house & it's only a couple of blocks out of his way to stop by. He buys all of my rabbit & chicken feed & I provide their treats. My youngest son lives just 2 blocks away. He's right here if I need anything, too. He just bought a small piece of land 7 miles out of our town. He's putting a shop on it with the hopes of someday being able to build a small home out there. My friend lives catty-corner to that property & she has 5 acres. My life has been perfect for me the way it is, but I've still never stopped dreaming of living in the country. I grew up in the country. I know the peace of the country life. God told me in a dream to "Stay put" 10 years ago, which I did. I got my house & vehicle paid for, & have both boys close by. Now I feel like it might be the right time for a change. I will keep praying, too. There has to be a way! I'm wishing you all the best, & praying for you to find a way, also. God Bless!

We felt the urge to get out of the city 3 years ago. We left our 5000 sq ft house and fancy jobs and moved to a little house on 2 acres in the country. Trying to get our grown children out of the city now. Thank you for this video. It reaffirms to me what we are doing is on track.

Yes! It's not about "Alarmist" it's reality like history of DEBT Cycle!! SO many Distractions (like ur chickens😂) but actually modern easy to get conveniences so most people are deceived to stay in 'corporate made comforts' sold as " Get it today! Pay later!"🎉 Oh and you will pay More later.☠️.💸 Like you mentioned, the former US 'Middle Class' HAD money from Saving 1st...many 'oldtimers' I was raised by... who went thru Great Depression would ONLY pay cash only after they had saved💰 for months or years to AVOID credit, i.e Compounding Interest (old Test. I have children, now in the workforce, who are looking at getting their own homes or apartments. Their friends either have two jobs or give up on working entirely, due to the cost of living. They nearly panic because they feel strangled financially at the age of 20. It's a shame that the powers that be are putting the American people under such duress.

Got a house note and a school loan left to pay off and then we will be debt-free. Finally got a little savings going. We've been raising rabbits and chickens and working a couple of gardens to save extra. Just want to tell everyone it is possible to get out of debt and create a homestead too. The secret is to just start somewhere and keep going!

My wife and I have been debt free for a long time. When we did take out a loan we paid it off as fast as we could. Paid our home off in 7 years (30 year loan). We recently purchased 65 acres of property (paid cash) in Tn to begin our homestead life. I’ll be 60 in January and ready to get that ball rolling.

I have gotten a little lax. Thanks for the kick in the tush. We bought a new truck. CRAZY idea. Had it a few months. My husband did not feel like it was the right thing to do. He called the dealership and they bought it back from him. He than bought a ‘76 pick up that he can work on. No computers. We just did a remodel of the kitchen and were able to eat out of the pantry and not the restaurants. But, the pantry is low. Gotta get her back stocked. Again, thanks for the reminder. Got too comfy.

Debt free. Paid off the house, the same starter home I bought in the 90's, over a decade ago. Bought my last car for cash, well not literal cash, but wrote a check. I pay the credit card in full every month. I have about 4 years expenses in CDs, savings and checking. And that's not all, but won't go into more details. Frugal and free and thankful for what I have. Less than a year to go to punch out of the job and retire. Going to get enough land for a much bigger garden and to have room for a chicken tractor and hen house. Cut firewood. I'm burnt out on the filth that Seattle has become. It was so nice in the 80's and 90's - no more.

Thank God my husband and I moved out here and bought our two acres with our fixer upper (cash) in 2018 because I don’t think I could afford the price much less the property taxes Texas has. Another gift was being able to show the tax assessor’s office what a mess it was and they lowered its value down to 50k. You better believe all the future improvements will be on the inside with very modest outside improvements so they can’t raise those taxes to the “current day evaluation” that isn’t protected by the homestead exemption. We’ve been living in a shed to house while we fix up the house as we save for the improvements. It’s slow going but we are slave to no lender this way. I hope people take heed and listen to your council but to many you are just like Noah preaching in the wilderness. Keep using that platform the Lord gave you, some may heed your warnings and others who have will be encouraged by them. Have a beautiful and blessed day! Can’t believe those car payments prices ouch! Don’t have those either, praise God!

Paying attention to economics is why my husband and I started keeping chickens and planting our garden. We have been fine tuning what our soil is good for the last two years as well as how we want to take care of our flock. I truly appreciate your videos as well as your Christian world view that we share. Homesteading in any capacity isn't about "doomsday" ideas as many think. It's about being self sufficient and taking care of our families as we wait for our faith to become sight. The End Times are real and we must do what we can to take care of each other, spread the Word, and stand strong.

I work for a large corp with minimum debt. The executives told us that shareholder groups are requiring ESG but so are some clients. So it is not up to the executives in other words or due to the banks or debtholders. Stock is not debt but it does allow a spot on the board if you own enough shares. Vanguard, blac krock, etc can be these types of groups with large share positions to call the shots. As an engineer I am now directed to come up with projects to reduce carbon for example in emmisions. This company is very conservative as well but their hands are tied if they want to stay a public company.

Heard a story through a chain of people, but a reliable chain, about why the housing market is disconnected from most else. I know there's a lot going on, but I do think this is relevant. Essentially, someone was talking to their friend in real estate, and they said they were going to wait until the prices went down. The real estate agent said "Its not going to go down, because these properties are the only viable investment hedge for people living in countries that have no security or law. Its where they store their wealth, and how they set up their escape route. They will keep buying forever, because they cant really own anything where they live." Thanks for your thoughts and perspective. Something to consider.

I have many friends in both commercial and residential real estate and they have never mentioned anything like what you are talking about. I follow many real estate channels and they have never mentioned anything like that either. I know the US allows foreign investment in property but not sure how many around the world can afford to buy a second property here. We also have a shortage of housing currently which contributes to the higher costs.

The relief from getting a payment paid off, including mortgage is suck a relief, it is hard to explain. We paid cash for our retirement house due to our particular circumstances. Our prior houses we paid off 'years' early by making 'excess payments' monthy, refinancing when intrest went down and keeping makeing the same payment as before. We have been blessed, but it is with the logic, and understanding that God gave us. No 'hocus pocus', just paying off highest interest rates first, and keeping at it for several years. Now retired, debt free, and having enough savings so if social security stops, we can still live nicely is such a blessing and gives my wife and I much peace.

I just wanted to explain that as Muslims despite that we love Jesus, Moses and Muhammad, we don’t elevate any prophet to the status of the creator. Personally I do believe (through teachings of Islam) that the mercy of God must be earned through true belief combined with good deeds. That is one of the reasons I made a decision to establish my farm and leave the luxury life I used to lead behind. We have lots of common grounds with our Christian friends and the line between us is so fine. I make prayers to you and all people out there for eternal happiness and goodness. Thanks again brother

You're welcome and thank you for the kind words. I admire your dedication and love. I am reminded in the Word of God that: "Yea, a man may say, “Thou hast faith, and I have works.” Show me thy faith apart from thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. James 2:18". God's word also teaches that His love and mercy are a free gift which we cannot gain by works (one christian sect believes that but it is not Biblical). We gain God's favor through obedience to His law because we love Him and that produces good works from us. We don't elevate any prophet above God either. Our Church has a prophet. They were just a messenger and not to be worshiped in any way. Jesus on the other hand is part of the Godhead consisting of God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God the Son volunteered to come to this earth to die a grim death for all of our sins. What an amazing thing that our Creator would do for us. His blood was shed for us because he loves us so much and was willing to condescend Himself, leave the heavenly realm, and die here. He rose from the dead and is in the heavenly sanctuary pleading with the Father for each and every one of us. All of the prophets (Moses, Abraham, and many more) spoke of Him. Peace be with you and may the Lord bless your farm that it provides bountifully for your family.

I would LOVE to move out into the country from the small city I live in to do WORK! And we’ve been trying for the last 2 years to do it but the housing market and mortgage rates have put this all out of reach. So we work our butts off doing what we can where we are. We are very close to only have a small mortgage and no other debt.

You are on the right track. Keep fighting forward. I think the housing market is going to take a huge downward fall soon. Mortgage demand is already down 27%. That will be the time to buy.

I think one big problem is that people dont learn from the past. It's seriously easy to get caught up in your own little world of problems and not be able to see the "big picture". I have friends that grew up so poor they didn't even know there was a depression happening, but they came through it just fine. During WW2 "they" encouraged every family to have a victory garden. Open your eyes and your bibles and learn.

I would love to homestead but the cost of land has skyrocketed and any house that has even a tiny acre attached is way overpriced. Moving to a modest home with acreage would put us further into debt so it’s been really hard to make this adjustment

I understand where you are coming from. Around here in East TX, there are a lot of people leaving the countryside and moving back into the cities. I assume it is for work in many cases. That leaves many places open for some good folks to come out. You shouldn't have to worry about someone moving out to a rural area. Many of them know it is hard work and embrace that.

Not preparing for possible outcomes is insanity. Don't be offended by people who accuse you of this. They will come to you for help when it gets ugly, which I expect over the next year or so.

Thankfully the only debt we have is our mortgage. We pay at least one extra payment on our mortgage every year so we can get our house paid off in 18 years instead of 30. Two years ago we refinanced our mortgage at 2.9% on a 30 year fixed mortgage. Our Pastor got an AWESOME fixed mortgage rate of 1.875%. Our previous mortgage rate was 3.875 and after getting our new fixed mortgage at 2.9%, it dropped our mortgage by $500, but right after that our property taxes went up by $500 a month. Washington state is now one of the highest taxed state in the union. And if you live in King County (Seattle), the sales tax is 10.0% and they now have an income tax. This is why big companies like Microsoft, Amazon, etc have relocated to other areas. And the Communist Left cannot figure out why everyone is bailing out of Seattle. Microsoft has relocated to our area, which we hate because they keep voting for the communist Left expecting change. Yep, they’re Stupid

@@CountryLivingExperience Eric, the 2.9% opened up for only 3 days. I have a friend who is a mortgage broker and she alerted me about it. My wife and I grabbed it and secured it within the 3 day opening

@@CountryLivingExperience It boiled down to supply line disruptions being fake and manufacturered, wondering why we're dependent on a foreign country for wheat and fertilizer, and that the real estate market is heading for a disaster. It was actually a lot, but Google doesn't approve of talking about 🇺🇦 or 💉 in a negative manner.

I'm not from the normal bubble of people you talk to, I found your channel by continuously autoplaying solar panel installation videos while stuck in traffic, and noticed almost immediately you were different than most. So I dont use the dialect you use to communicate your ideas. It makes me sad actually, because I know alot of people who would hear the words you use to communicate and would immediately dismiss you. But, its obvious, if you actually pay attention to what your trying to get across, that you are giving profound advice and insight that you genuinely want others to benefit from. And things people need to hear too. I *hate* how politics draws arbitrary lines between people so they cant group together and fight for what matters. I know so many people who think the other is the enemy, but say exactly the same thing just in a different way. Its a false divide. I hope you break into more bubbles and people hear what you have to say.
