Quick correction, the MODX has 8 scenes, but only 4 buttons, to get to the last 4 you need to click another button (the one that´s just to the left of the scene buttons)
I've been buying synths and recording gear since the 1980s. Now, after buying countless keyboards, synths, workstations, and spending tens of thousands of dollars, I can warn you to always keep in mind that skillful practice and amazing talent are never included in the gear.. (and im still not famous). 🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹 just enjoy the journey! 😅
I was looking at his packs... the artwork makes them look like CDs. How do you load them? Or do you just download them and install them? Can i use my android phone or tablet to do that, or do i need a computer?
I must respectfully disagree regarding the unweigted keyboard action of the MODX series. It feels plasticky and cheap IMHO. Great demonstration and awesome playing though!
Awesome patches and playing! I appreciate how playable they seem to be with quick attacks and releases, and not too much reverb. This is probably something every keyboard player should do with all their favourite factory presets, go through and tighten them, then save them as user presets. Thanks.
Excellent video... Comes standard whenever Mike is present.😀. Contentious question: Is Mike Freelance? Reason for asking is he's currently working for/with Akai? No?
Good morning guys and thanks for all the information you give us. I have a simple question. Could you tell me if there are many differences between the keyboard action of the MONTAGE 6 and the MODX6? my fear is that the MODX6's keyboard action will feel very cheap. I really appreciate your opinion and your advice, congratulations on the channel. Greetings Edward!!
I've looked through all Mike's sound packs and patches and "Realm of the Horns" is nowhere to be found. I can barely read your screen even with my 4K monitor and can see you're using 2 Orchestras and 1 Ensemble. Obviously it's a brass sound, maybe French Horns. How can I get the patch?
BS radar overload!!! MODX keyboard action sucks big time, it's not the worst out there, but it's pretty terrible, so much so that I mostly use mine as a module.
I switched from the MOTIF to the MODX. Best decision in my keyboard rig I ever made. Sure the keybed isn't as good, but it's not as bad as some say. The MODX is a well better synth with more abilities, and a far better large touch screen user interface. It weighs half what the MOTIF's did, and costs half the price too. You can also load sound collections from the MOTIF series right in. Good riddance MOTIF's. Don't miss you after having a MODX.
I only caughtr snatches of Mike Patrick's fantastically up to scratch mash up of patches and if he hatches a plot to play a whole lot more i will not ignore but come back for more - let's see what's in store and isn't it tip top listening to hip hop wearing flip flops in a chip shop ?
Am a Modx8+ owner and its very good piano and guitar sounds amazing and the strings too very good feeling keys (at least to me)... amazing keyboard overall
