Get the Most Out of Your Topwater Lures

Good stuff as always Den, i had a situation where the fish only wanted a prop bait and i had only 15 lb braid on my top water/ jerkbait rod, and i was getting killed by thr guy i was fishing with. Every cast was getting fouled on the front hook or the front prop. Finally i came up with a partial solution by installing 5 bobber stops to the line which provided a standoff from the hook and the prop. I finally was able to catch a few and salvage the day.

Hey Den, another great video, so for me for my frog fishing I have actually settled into using a 200 size Reel this allows me to get away with a faster gear ratio because of the larger spool and larger gears it gives you so much more power, also it is much easier to manage and cast 50 pound braid, I started doing this last year it’s been a game changer for me also I have an awesome toad bait that I discovered that has completely changed everything about my toad fishing I will give you a pack at the next Wednesday night lunker tournament at the Nock, and It will completely change everything with your toad fishing including line reel and rod , everything for you and open up a lot more , this bait is now the only toad that I throw because of how versatile it is and there’s so many more things that you can do with it then a traditional toad my biggest frustration with a toad is like you said having to start right away as soon as it hits the water and although sometimes it can be affective what it sinks sometimes drive me insane because I feel as though I’m missing bites in certain situations
