As old as this now is (has it really been over three decades?), Get The Picture basically updated two classic game show concepts: Dotto from the 1958 for the main game (unfortunately, a Quiz Show Scandals victim), and Eye Guess from the 1960s for the Mega Memory bonus round (although with pictures instead of just answer cards with text). Most of those shows are long lost as you may expect.
At 9:02 and 18:37, the rare buzzer that was only used in Season 1. This episode and an other early taped one used it when time was running out. However, in later season 1 episodes, it was only heard when time ran out after the team sucessfully guessed the hidden picture
23:14 My 1991 friendly Voiceover Announcement: An army brat wants to try out on a dance tv show, make new friends at an all-girl Catholic School, and has a dreamy crush on her male dance partner. Sarah Jessica Parker stars in Girls Just Want To Have Fun. This Sunday at 2 pm only on the first kids' network. The game show block continues with The Best of Double Dare with Marc Summers coming up next.
I always thought the parting gifts the kids who didn’t win got on the Nickelodeon shows were pretty cool. Those BK shoes were so popular when I was a kid, and that was solely because of shows like this and Double Dare. And video games were expensive back then for what they did. I remember getting Killer Instinct for the SNES in 1994 and it was $85 at K-B Toys. As a kid, you wanna go on these shows so you can win, but even if you lose, you still got to be on the show, and you get some money and cool stuff most kids wouldn’t ever see. Usually the parting gifts weren’t commonly available in stores either.
This is a March 1991 episode of the American kid game show "Get The Picture" (it already ended on Nickelodeon) and it's from season one. 🇺🇲 🇺🇲 On this episode, the two teams competing are Patricia & Nick and Adrienne & Mac.
Wait a minute... Is that Arian Ash from Welcome Freshmen? I do not know she was on this show I know she later did episodes on Mortal Kombat: Conquest and Dawson’s Creek. I wonder if she’s related to Jana “The Warrior” Waring-Helms from Nickelodeon GUTS (aka Mike O’Malley’s second show one year after Get The Picture has been canceled)
The first produced episode and way early 1. Different sound effects “low pitch” 2. Mike is very calm and sedated 3. The true first filmed episode (not IMDB listed) 4. Yellow Wire with Yellow Dots
The next taped episode is the very same thing except the Universal Studios globe wasn't seen at all. The Nickelodeon Studios building was seen DURING the playing of the Power Surge.
@@OrbulonthunderdexI know😅 A then twenty-four-year-old Mike O’Malley should have used a hairbrush to brush his hair when the show started. As of now, Mike is going to be fifty-seven this Halloween and he’s sadly bald. He now wears a baseball cap and grows a Santa Claus-like beard and his new show, Heels just renewed for a second season.
Joe Piasek: This Sunday on Nick. An army brat wants to try out on a dance TV show, make new friends at an all-girl Catholic School, and has a dreamy crush on her male dance partner. Sarah Jessica Parker stars in Girls Just Want To Have Fun This Sunday at 2 pm/1 Central only on Nick. Now, The game show block continues with The Best of Double Dare with Marc Summers coming up next right here on Nick.
If anyone can provide a complete list of episodes Nick GaS showed in taping order, I would be forever grateful. Paramount + isn't putting this show on there.
