I love that the NPCs in Crystal are there. They clearly wanted to make sure that you experienced the GS Ball event in a very particular way - approaching the shrine from the south, as it lingers on the top of your screen. I'm a fan tbh

My most valuable and unique Pokémon: a legit Gen 3 English Celebi. I got it from the 10th Anniversary Event. My mom actually drove me to another city to attend an official Pokémon convention/event at a mall. People got to vote for which Pokémon would be given out, and Celebi won the top spot so all attendees got it. It's one of my most important Pokémon. I remember being on Pokémon forums and no one else would have one, made me feel so special~

The fact that the developers didn’t consider special Pokémon with special moves relearning them in the latest games/storage service shows they gave up on the idea of bringing those special friends with you through every game.

With Pokemon Home, Pokemon have separate movesets for every Switch game (barring Let's Go and SwSh sharing one). Movesets from Bank and Let's Go are also applied to the SwSh moveset. This means any exclusive moves from older generations are only usable in SwSh. Your Kanto Birds and Lugia will still know them in their SwSh moveset, but since they can't learn those moves in BDSP or SV, they will not be able to relearn them in those games or any other future games unless they are given the moves again.

I hope the homebrew scene will be able to do something about it, so we'd at least be able to maintain the connectivity between gen 1-7. I've grown weary of the modern generations and the amount of bs thrown at us.

As someone that has since grown disillusioned with Pokemon since Sw/Sh, I find myself not caring too much about not being able to transfer up all my mons. Part of me feels like there’s something wrong with me, like I’m a freak for thinking that. I just wanna like Pokémon again, but the last most I’ve been excited for this series in in the past 7 years was Mystery Dungeon DX and Ash leaving the anime. Oh, and Legends. Loved Arceus and very excited for Z-A.

Man, the end got me in the feels. My first Pokemon was my beloved Sceptile. He was transferred up to Gen 4 and at some point throughout the years the save file was reset. RIP my friend.

That ending was amazing. I didn't grow up with a 3ds. But I have started playing the pre-gen 7 games before bank shuts down, just so I don't regret not playing them. And I've loved being able to bond with all these amazing Pokémon in the game they were introduced in. I've got boxes in Pokémon home reserved for these Pokémon when I finish my playthroughs and I can't wait to have them all completed

I've been passing over my Crobat since Leafgreen about.. 10 years ago or so, its shiny, was my first random shiny encounter and I've made it part of my team since then!

Weird to think the last and only time Deoxys and Mew could be shiny hunted in a game was 20 years/6 gens ago. I'm about to work on catching up on some wormhole legend hunts in Ultra Sun but I may have to look into these two as well EDIT: Oh right, there is technically a way to get a shiny mew via VC RBY iirc but someone else might need to fact check that

Some personal unique pokemon i plan to use: A shadow meowth i caught in xd who i plan to make into a ribbon master, i named her ceaszar Bolt, a pikachu whom ive transfered up from my pokemon yellow and plan to use on the storyline team of every title i can transfer him to, im also trying to make him mostly anime accerate to ashs pikachu .venusaur that i transfered up from yellow, i plan to get him every stat, ribbon etc that in pokemon lore and in pokemon cannon can be used to prove venusaur to be the most well liked pokemon and tbe pokemon with the highest social status Cosplay pikachu, i know a method of changing her form into a regular pikachu and thus qllowing transfer, i want to use her as a mini game master I have a shedinja caught in a great ball The magikarp from the salesman in fire red, i use him as a pet qnd dont battle him. Im debating on making a running gag where he enters every hall of fame and earns every champion and battle facility ribbon dispite not gaining a singal attack or level since he was bought Lt surge trades you a german pikachu in the johto remakes, i plan to evolve his Pikachu into an alolan raichu The eon duo of collosium traval the Pokemon universe to save abused pokemon and take on battle facilities The union cave lapras enters all bonding activities I plan to chain breed every team member from every title who can chain breed to create a Pokemon who happens to be the decendent of all my past teams Once bolt the pikachu reaches scarlet and violet i plan to make a girlfriend for him, a clefairy with max contest stats and a moveset all about being cute Poketopia electavire

Gen 5 actually had more unique mons than those just from Pokémon dream radar. Through the memory link feature you could link either an original black or white to black 2 or white 2 and be able to run into N’s Pokémon in the wild which have their own in battle animation and unique OT. Also there are other dream radar mons that have unique abilities that may still only be able to be found in dream radar. Also Pokémon channel jirachi exists too. Great video!

My first pokemon game was Red. I had a Charizard that I grinded to 100, and was able to bring with me to each new game... but when I put it on my switch, I was robbed and lost all that pokemon data... no way to restore the save or anything, and Nintendo refused to give me the IP address from where whoever stole it to me or the police. RiP Raze, my very first pokemon bond

Don't forget about the Gen 4 and 5 event Pokemon that you can get by making a hotspot and tampering with your DS settings. Between Gen 4 and 5, this includes shiny Milotic, Eevee, Entei, Raikou, Suicune, Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina. Plus a few more, I think, but I can't recall which ones.

@1:01 Not necessarily. The spirit of the challenge is to get all possible ribbons that the chosen Pokemon can obtain. Each Pokemon can be a ribbon master, it’s just their origin point that determines which ribbons qualify them as one. :)

I plan to up my game to building a live dex in Home, is something I have been wanting to do for a while, specially getting some of my old event pokemons

Pokemon Ranch, Hayley's Phione is actually pretty special because it's the ONLY way for a Phione to be in a Cherish Ball instead of a regular pokeball.

Tornadus was my main Flying type in Black 2 thanks to Dream Radar, and he gave me an odd love for low-level Legendaries as well as getting to actually use Legendaries in game. This also reminds me I need to get rest of my mons out of Bank at some point. I have modded the Switch and 3DS to transfer, so I just need to clear Bank. I even have my Faraway Island Mew who's joined me every game backed up in my PC cloud storage for safe keeping.

1:00 not quite. The ribbon challenge specifys that you only need to get all the currnetly obtainable ribbons for a mon to be a ribbon master. All the bank shutdown would do is change said requirements.

I'm currently working on Ribbon Mastering a Magmar from XD, as well as the Mt Battle Chikorita with Frenzy Plant, and a Colosseum bonus disc Jirachi. Hoping I can finish before the eventual Bank shutdown. I'm expecting it'll probably be up for another year or so

Still have my very first pokemon from 2004, a charizard that got forgotton about for over a decade that was sitting in my box on fire red until last week at level 93. Also my very first shiny pokemon, a diglett which i was mind boggled about when i discovered because i was a child who didnt know shinies even existed. Just got them into home and gotta say im glad that i still have those all these years later

I myself with the uniqueness of my first starter have always found great regret in transferring upwards. He has never seen Alola onwards and one day when the transfers fully shut down, I will certainly have a decision to make.

0:57 - Small tid bit you missed, the Pokemon Colosseum/XD:GoD Ribbons can also be equipped like any other Ribbon in the Gen 8 or later games. Giving those Pokemon Exclusive Titles when sent into battle, for Purified Shadow Pokemon it's "Go --- The Triumphant!" and for Mount Battle Conquerers it's "Go --- The 100x Victorious!" both are imo some of the coolest titles they've made to this day even outside of the fact you can only get them in the farthest back to transfer games possible as while only possible to have on Gen 3 and below Pokemon (even less for the Shadow Pokemon of course). Edit 11:20 - My poor Level 100 Infernape is still sealed within My Pokemon Ranch after having reset the OT Save File several times now, with Pokemon only being allowes to leave Ranch via it's original owner... I did look it up once and iirc there is a way to reveal the trainer ID and Name within the game so with Homebrew on the Ranch side or PkHex on the DS side it should be possible to fake the credentials to allow the game to let me take it out and trade up to the newer games.

I think I forgot to save when I first played a Pokémon game. Not that the Squirtle would've gotten to Home anyway! To think, so many mythical Pokémon will become more difficult to access. Just when they were getting easier to access too. Ah well, when there's a will, there's a way!

Celebi event 8n crystal was probably mandatory at the end to make sure it worked properly. Or just make sure you experience the event properly.

You can actually get (shiny) patrat in a masterball in Pokémon Go & transfer it to the main games! :)

Just fyi in either sm or usum you can still use the ds camera to scan a qr code to get magearna after beating the pokemon league. its still active after the servers went down so its annother mythical that you need for the pokemon home pokeball color magearna!

The fact that they chose to make Bank free after the eShop shutdown and Bank accessible after the 3DS Online shutdown shows that they care about retaining access to Bank. They are likely going to give us at least a six months notice before the shutdown. I'm hoping for at least a year myself. Also, if you are taking the remaining days seriously (where it shows a question mark before two numbers), we at least have 1000 days before shutdown. What is likely happening is that number likely resets and they will keep Bank active for as long as possible. As for the video, I like how you mentioned some unique, low level Pokemon and Pokemon with unique moves. Unfortunately, if they enter Gen 9, their moveset is overwritten, but thankfully that's only when they are in a Gen 9 game. If they return to Home, I believe they should get their original moveset, but I could be wrong. Nonetheless, this shows that Game Freak/TPC isn't really interested in maintaining those unique moves inside the newer games, though they have to for Home.

Unless they remake them (fat chance), BW2 has a couple of unique mons - N’s pokemon as well as a couple of shinies for completing the dex and doing that one battle facility in Black City/White Forest

HOME stores the movesets for each Pokémon separately for each set of games. SwSh retains the moves the Pokémon had in Bank, but every other game has its own separate profile. If you move them to SwSh, they should still have the moves they had in Bank (i.e. the special moves from Colosseum/XD). The HOME relearner only lets you teach it moves that it can learn in the game that you're moving it to. You can only teach level-up moves or moves it knows in other games, but the Pokémon _also_ has to be able to learn the move in the game it's being moved to in order to be able to teach it. So since Lugia cannot learn Psycho Boost in SV, you will never be able to have Lugia with Psycho Boost in SV. Moving to SV doesn't affect the SwSh profile though. By default, HOME displays the profile for the game the Pokémon last travelled to, so if you're bothered by a Pokémon not showing their special moves in HOME anymore, just send it to SwSh and back again, and the default HOME profile should return to the same moves it had in Bank.

Glitch pokemon FC in GSC virtual console, I got that one. I made it learn absorb with a glitch too. It became a Treecko. I am hoping to get FF (Torchic) if possible.

Within the last month or so I managed to catch every shadow Pokémon from both games on the game cube and transfer them through bank to home since they have that special ribbon I also played again for any other Pokémon that evolve past generation three also got myself a shadow ralts in a lux ball, On top of catching every single Pokémon in the gen one and two, virtual console for a complete living dex with the game boy Mark, as well as extras again for newer evo’s like ursaluna and H Typhlosion

The Japanese Steelix from the demo would require a trade to a NA 3ds, unless your nintendo account is a JP account, as you cant login to an NA account on a JP 3ds.

I remember walking past the shrine again and again pressing A on it hoping that my game would trigger a glitch so I could finally catch the Celebi and then I finally got it on the VGC on my 3DS and it was shiny too!!!! 😭😭😭 I cherish my pink little onion fairy 🧚‍♀️

I don’t really have any that I need but last year I did get a legit gen 3 feebas and evolved it in the same game it took me about 2 hrs to find its spot but once I did it was one lol.

I have a feeling once Pokémon Legends ZA and Generation 10 games are out, that’s when they will pull the plug on Pokemon bank. All Pokemon will be available on the Switch as of ZA. If the leaks about the Switch’s successor are to be believed, it will be backwards compatible and we will be using the same Nintendo ID system.

I'm going to shiny hunt up the wazoo when I get the time, magicarp swap method in SM/USUM and GSC's egg farming are still I believe the easiest shiny hunting methods, along with the fishing chains but I think I caught all the shinies I want via that, all fish. Also making teams for specific characters, like I test ran Red in Yellow version, is his GSC/HGSS (HGSS, since in GSC he has Espeon instead of Lapras... and that didn't exist in RBGY lol being a gen 2 Pokemon) team, doing that with all protagonists/rivals, are their teams truly capable of beating the game. In middle of Kris, but Red 100% stomps the elite 4 and champion, specifically that Lapras, it and Charizard are all I really needed.

Ngl, the last unique Pokemon made me tear up 🥹 I have my first starter pokemon, Turtwig (now Torterra), tucked safely into pokemon home. Pearl was my first complete play through of a Pokémon game as a kid. So many memories. 🥹

I'm doing a shiny living dex but after bank closes I will loose a bunch of easier ways to get some mons, or the way to get them at all (I'm 69% of the way in) Also I wanted to do a ribbon quest with a shiny Heracross from Collosseum but that will take ages so... I'd also love that the day that bank closes the community manages to get some transfer shenanigans

I wish I could’ve saved my first Pokémon, Samson the Charizard (who turned out to be a girl). But I lost her in Silver after my battery died. Plus, the whole “not being able to transfer” thing.

Still only way to get shiny Manaphy too, that rare chance in Ranger transfering to DPP. It is possibly the rarest shiny because of that, in another comment I mentioned Go has had some events for Mew and Jirachi, or Japan has run events granted those are exclusive to Japan, but there has been no way to get a legitimate shiny Manaphy since Ranger x DPP.

Once we lose Bank, this means Gens 5 and 6 will lose their interactivity, and the Gens will be split off from 1-2, 3-5, 6-7, and 8+ It will effectively be another stonewall like Gens 2-3 were, only on a much bigger scale. For as much as the Pokédex becoming too big was an obvious problem, I don’t know if many people were thinking about this. Now all my Pokémon will be stuck in Gen 5 just because there’s no internet support for the feature. But hey, at least Black 2 & White 2 will keep them busy forever and ever ❤

pretty sure, if u already own Pokémon bank it doesn't really means they will also close the online service. It still about Pokémon games one of the best selling games from Nintendo. They could shut it off once all Pokémon are available from further generations or sequels.

for me 1st 2 games Coli/XD and all of the DS and GBA games I can't get at all so those are dead to me but the rest gonna get a Switch and try and get what I can get.

3:24 not being able to move Pokémon into the newer games and keep the exclusive moves not just for Lugia and the XD Pokémon, but for all event mons with exclusive moves like the movie 10 Darkrai with Roar of Time and Spacial Rend, is a fucking felony. I very much got a shiny Celebi in Crystal, took me 5 and a half seasons of Game of Thrones to get but I got it.

Currently ev training every shadow Pokemon between colosseum and Gale of Darkness. Been at it for years. Some of them have awful natures and am thinking about replaying the games for better options, others I messed up by evolving too early ( like Meowth or Scyther)

YOU SCARED ME STOP IT, lol, I thought it was happening soon, this isn't new info lol. Honestly think this could've been avoided and could still be, as long as Nintendo doesn't screw it up more. Feel they could have a bank function on the Switch 2, that doesn't need online, and can wirelessly connect to a 3ds, or is backwards compatible ya know via the Nintendo ID. X Box and Playstation had this problem solved over a decade ago, their downloadable stuff is saved to your IDs for those platforms. I can't speak too much on Sony, haven't been a fan since 2-3 era, but my X Box One, I could not only use their cloud to transfer games like Sonic Generations, Shantae Pirates Curse, or Battle Block Theater, but my save files went with them. Now I have them not just on my 360 but my One, and the Series X is the same way, even being able to run og X Box games like Halo 2. PC systems like Steam and Epic Game store function this way too (if the creators of said games allows it that is, as some aren't cloud compatible, like Amnesia the Dark Descent). Nintendo is way behind the times, there's no reason our eshops and other stuff we had on wii u/3ds can't work on the Switch, people have cracked into the Switch and proven it can work. Heck the Wii U could even run DS lite games on 1 screen, if you buy an emulation let's say... Zelda Phantom Hourglass on the Wii U eshop, it was on the DS, needing 2 screens right?... well you can choose to do one of 3 things. 1 use it just on the gamepad, it's small as hell, but it's possible to utilize both DS screens on 1 small gamepad screen. 2 both screens on the TV the same way... or 3 you have one screen on the TV, the other on the gamepad, and it can be either. You could put the touch screen on the TV for some reason, and the game on the gamepad, or the touch screen on the gamepad, and the game on the TV. So no reason the Switch can't do that either. Switch did a lot of good things, but took several steps back that the 3ds and wii u were capable of doing, so I don't see why its successor can't utilize Bank in some fashion so we can still use those old games.

Yeah, and that's currently still the only way to get a shiny Jirachi right? No wait a minute, Pokemon Go had an event for it. At least outside of Japan there hasn't been many options, since they had 2-3 between gens 5-7. It was also if I recall the only way to get Jirachi back then, so it did have value back then, but yeah I suppose with how many mythical events we've gotten, and you can get a free on in BDSP as long as you have... SwSh? Also Deoxys was in Emerald too, I forget which, but each one had a different form, I think Emerald was speed, attack FR? Defense LG? Mew was also the only way for the longest time to get a legitimate shiny Mew in Emerald. There has been 2 opportunities thanks to Go since then, but require either that expensive joy con Pokeball thing with a lot of luck, or you had to have boughten the Kanto event pass back in 2020. So still unable to get a shiny Mew through any legitimate means outside of that Emerald one and shiny hunting

Unfortunately my most unique Pokémon does not even exist any more .. My first starter Pokémon .. It was a Turtwig and at the time Pokémon Diamond was my only game and I wanted to start a new playthrough and I had no one to trade with .. :(
