Get to know Dr. Kwane Stewart...his path to becoming a vet, why he started the Street Vet mission and more. Thanks to TODAY.com for filming and sharing the story.
Dr kwane, God bless you for your beautiful soul and caregiving to both pets and the homeless. Their should be more real vets like you, the world definitely needs more compassion.
I have very little faith left in humanity given how we over populate and abuse the planet, treat the other species on the planet as if they are here for us to abuse/exploit/enslave/murder, treat eachother with such total judgement & disregard....then I watched your videos and some of my faith is renewed so I donated! Thank you for all you do for these pets and their guardians! Your help is priceless to those that need it! You set an example we should all follow!
Having worked w homeless people, I know how unbelievably hard it is to break through the stigma attached to most homeless situations. People just do not GET the fact that 1)homeless people are PEOPLE FIRST and 2)many and most homeless people have the range of emotions and needs the rest of us have. And I’ve heard people say “Why don’t they give up their animals?” And I say, “Why don’t you give up yours?” Which never goes over well…this is a wonderful way of advocating for folks by explaining their situation and relationships with their pets/family members.
Hard to choose the best words to describe Dr. Stewart's mission and dedication. Easier to say I am extremely grateful for and touched by his actions. I have been very lucky in all "standard" aspects of life, but cannot overstate the impact that two shelter dogs had on me - heart, mind, soul, perspective, and extra gratitude for our time on earth. Dogs, perhaps street/shelter dogs especially, can bring out the best in people: drop all guards, dive in without fear; the more we give, the more we get; only death can break the bonds we create; no promises necessary. Complete trust, loyalty, friendship; zero selfishness or hidden intentions. That Dr. Stewart mission gives (better, longer) lives to these wonderful creatures who, in turn, bring so much to people with so little... d-a-r-n... Wrote a lot and still can't find the words. Hope I'll find ways to contribute. Thanks, Dr. KS
what a gift you are giving! I wanted to be a vet and so sad I did not do it- so good for you and good for you giving to people of need and to their companions and soulmates!!
When I was in grade school I had this thing about Hall being a fat would just be the best thing ever. I just didn’t have the math science skills etc. so I’m glad there are people out there.
Housing is becoming difficult, because extreme rental fees and deposits that are charged for people's pets. This can cause people to have to surrender their pets to shelters. It needs to be easier for people to keep their emotional support, they receive from their furry roommates. We also need more healthy and natural means to care and feed them, along with ourselves. If you wouldn't feed your pet junk food, why do we eat it ourselves? Pets teach us patience, understanding, compassion, responsibility and how to take better care of ourselves daily.
Please tell me how I can donate, Dr. Kwane Stewart? I've always wanted to save all of the helpless Angels, unable to help themselves, out on the streets, around the world! It's been my dream since I was little, unfortunately life had a different plan for me, however the dream has never died! I'd love to at least donate to your wonderful cause! Please tell me how! And thank you from the bottom of my heart! You are truly a beautiful soul! #becausetheymatter
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍Great veterinary show! The vets are great at helping the homeless, a big thank you to them. However, in the show centered around a veterinarian, "Dr. Kwane" doesn't seem up to the task. His lack of authenticity and real empathy in his dealings with homeless people in the series is disappointing. He acts like an extra ready to do anything to stand out on screen, reminiscent of those young actors from Los Angeles ready to do anything to obtain a certain notoriety or break into the cinema. It’s a shame given how useful this show is for poor people.
