What an incredible breakdown and overview. Never thought of the prophet pbuh’s mission as giving us the opportunity to seek forgiveness. But that’s really the most important thing for us as Muslims. Amazing work to do the tafseer of Surah Fatah for us spending year to understand it. The beginning, middle and end of Surah is based on forgiveness great precise words in the last part of lecture of whole goal of Surah.
the treaty was for 10 years of peace. the treaty also promised that the Muslims can do the pilgrimage next year for the period of three days and on that time quraish will move away not disturbing them. sahabis were too tired to see this as they wanted the pilgrimage to happen right away. but it is a victory nevertheless. for the first time, there was a possibility to establish peace and enter in the cause of worshipping Allah that too in Makkah

Don't wish for your children to be like anyone who is alive because you dont know what thier end will be. Islamically we should make dua our children are like those who have already passed upon imaan and we know it e.g. prophets, sahaba, sahabiyaat etc..

May i know the reason why hudaibiyyah treaty was created? Is it because uthman ra was captured and released, then the quraisy said that they cant performed hajj (as mentioned in What is Victory lecture) Or is it because of the quraisy wanted to cover their tracks of sending assassins to kill the believers in hudaibiyyah ( as mentioned in this vid) ?
What I understand is that the Muslims had reached the sacred territory but the Quraysh had no intentions of honouring the Muslims as pilgrims. Yet they had to keep their image of honouring the sanctity of pilgrims to the Kaaba in front of all the other tribes of Arabia and people who travelled there for their own pilgrimage. Hence, they had to negotiate with the Muslims and the Treaty of Hudaybiyah is the result.
+mehrtanvir I think Allah intended for the muslims to take part of this treaty because it would be leading to the opening of makkah without jihad and this is the victory Allah is telling the believer's in sura al fath
+Safiya Omar +mehrtanvir after i checked in The Sealed Nectar Book, both events occurred actually. There were some younger, irresponsible , hot tempered Quraish decided to crash the Muslims camp to trigger a war. But rasullullah managed to captured them and set them free (48:24) , and then the story of Uthman AS took place. He was sent to Abu Sufyan to convince them that they are here just to do Hajj.
If I have understood correctly, it is akin to the Western saying *"The battle may have been lost but the war has been won"* . It is the supremacy of a long-term perspective over a short-term perspective. Here, the short-term 'battle' that was lost was the Treaty of Hudaibyah. The long-term 'war' that was won was the liberation of the Ka'aba. Therefore the victory the surah speaks of, is the long-term victory, not the short-term loss. And Allah knows best.
It was a strategic victory that recognised the state of Madina and allowed the Muslims to win over many converts including Amr ibn Aas and Khalid bin Waleed and allow an almost bloodless victory the very next year at tge Conquest of Makkah.
*48:1 only translate the name of Mecca in Corinth, ( not at) because *46:2 is the whole book of Deuteronomy, so that *48:2 reads thus: " Open your hearts to us. We have wronged no one. We have corrupted no one. We have cheated no one .( of Corinthians) Because these words the LORD spoke to all 'your' assembly, in the mountain from the midst of the fire *92, the cloud - *98, and the thick darkness Deuter.5:22 with a loud voice. ( And He added no more !) And , " He wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to 'Me' "" is John's 17th prayer for you, because He is : *48:4 revelation, God having provided something better for Us, that they should not be made perfect apart from Us.
