My first born did not sleep through an entire night until he was 10 months old. Lol, I was a walking zombie! My elderly Neighbor told me, and I have never forgotten. "The days are long, but the years are short", and it's the truth.
@mumthings
@mumthings Год назад
It’s so true, I don’t know where the last 2 years have gone with Freyja! I think a lot of people have unreasonable expectations of baby sleep too. It’s totally normal and protective of their health for them to wake a lot! Xx

Would love to see a day in life vlog! My one regret starting youtube is that i didn't do it when my kids were younger, because it would be great to look back on the vlogs, and I'd probably make other mums feel better about themselves 😂
@mumthings
@mumthings Год назад
That’s a really good point actually. It is nice to be able to look back. Haha! I’d be the poster child for ‘if this muppet can raise kids then you’ll be just fine’ xx

This was fun! I'm glad you spelled your daughters name. I have never used her name because I was afraid to misspell it. Heck, I will probably misspell it anyway, but I will try. I love that you felt the need to tell us you are a bit eclectic while telling us your fingers are green from dying your hair. 🤣🤣 Have you thought of publishing any of your novels? Hearing you talk about maternity leave being over in a year just makes my jar drop. 100% unpaid leave unless you have earned a few weeks of sick time in the good ole USA. Ugh. Thanks for this!
@mumthings
@mumthings 10 месяцев назад
Glad you enjoyed 😊 I may self publish some when I get a bit more time. Who knows. Yes the parental leave rights in the US are scary aren’t they. I keep seeing things in mum Facebook groups about mothers going back to work after weeks (with their partners working too) and I just don’t know how people do it. You must all be superheroes over there! Xx

I am just watching this now and the time just flew by! The look on your face as you visualized the bathroom...but really, the entire thing was very interesting. I think you are managing so well. Please don't think of yourself as "old", even if the doctors say it to you. My sister was married at 21, couldn't have babies, then suddenly at 36 had her first one! Your stories of no sleep remind me of her life. She had her third at 41. Tired but happy.

I've just re-read Mark Carwardine's reiteration of the trip he took Douglas Adams on but this time he took Stephen Fry years later. It was also called "Last chance to see". Great book.

I'm late watching this video but it was very interesting and 'eclectic' as you say🙂 Your gluten story is especially relatable as my 19 year old was diagnosed when she was 6 and I had no idea what it was, we got beige food on prescription, ick, and we probably eat totally differently now as a result of all that. The gluten vs non-gluten cooking for a family of both those schools has been the hardest. We live and learn! And the parties, those primary school parties where your kid (back then) couldn't eat any cake and nobody knew what coeliac was, kinda tough, but it's so much better now yay.
@mumthings
@mumthings Год назад
Urgh the prescription food was awful! Oh wow yes the kids parties must have been awful. How on earth do you explain to a 6 year old that they have to miss out? As you say, thankfully things are better now. Some one once asked me if I was annoyed by people ‘jumping on the GF bandwagon’. Nope! The more people choose to eat GF the easier it is for those of us who need to to access the food xx

Lovely video - thank you so much. This is such a good channel. Would agree with you about spending as much time as you can with the girls before they start school. The time with them goes very quickly - one minute they're tiny, the next thing they're adults! I've also have two daughters two years apart, now 19 and 21, and that time has flown. Enjoy every moment ☺️

Hi and love to you all, Well what a delightful 30 minute vlog ! Your Scottish accent is more noticeable the more you talk, but like you i have moved around a bit so my accent goes from London to Australia so others say ! But who cares for me its about the person not their accent. X

Really enjoyed watching this and hearing a bit more about you. One of my kids has a problem with gluten, we were so sure it was coeliac and its very similar symptoms to what you described and some other ones too, she had been off gluten for a couple of years before she got tested, went back on it for 6 weeks first and it came back as clear but she suffers so bad with even a mouthful of it, so they said she at best has a gluten intolerance but treat it like its coeliac. I loved the name Freja for her as it goes but her dad didn't like it but that is how I was going to spell it although I prefer your daughters spelling, it's beautiful. I'd watch a ditl video of yours, im nosey and love stuff like that 😂😂 And congrats on 1000 subscribers!! 🎉 xx

Really enjoyed your video. I am a similar ish age (37) and have Crohn’s disease. Would not recommend as autoimmune diseases go. Would be really interested to hear your experience with autoimmune issues as I’ve not come across many people I can relate to in that way. Crohns wiped out most of my late teens/early twenties, the autoimmune rollercoaster of life is real! X
@mumthings
@mumthings Год назад
Thank you Kate 😊 oh wow Chrons is rough. I’m pretty lucky in that the diseases I have don’t impact me too much. I have vitiligo and Hashimotos but I had my thyroid removed due to cancer as a teenager so lucky I guess that the hashimotos isn’t of any consequence xx
