This time is a great opportunity for teenagers. My 19, 16 and 14 year old sons have gone out and got jobs and work side hustles. This generation of young people is going to pass and overcome the people who won't go back to work. 10 years ago our culture was almost trying to forbid kids from working...glad that's over.🙂
My wife and I would be such interesting case studies on this topic! We basically believe in multiple levels of work for each person and are proving that the young people we lead want to do all of them. We would not be able to do this without the McManus family's brilliant inspiration. Thank you BR Team 😁
Really loved this. As a dad, I appreciate hearing all the examples of a hard work / work ethic in Erwins foundation and how it plays out to undergird his life passions. It great to see and hear Aaron’s honor and respect for his dad, while grappling with finding his place and developing his own character. Such a great statement that we are free to work. I believe there can be so much more conversation in development of passion through hard work and what that looks like and feels like. Without productivity, creativity is an Illusion. That was good. Enjoyed this 😊🔥❤️
This is so good. Recently I got my first paid job. I think working is essential to human life whether it is voluntary, paid, or something you create. I've been working before I got my first paid job. I've been writing stories and studying. Work helps me get up in the morning and stop wasting time.
I'm 23 and everything Erwin said about building your Character is so, so true. Every type of work allows you to build new skills and help you build your character. Really enjoyed the conversation!
Such a good conversation! I really think to get to work is a human right (As declared by UN artcile 23). I think what Erwin says in the end about putting meaning to whatever you do, by seeing people is soo good. And that is how I managed my time as a waitress, after been working as a restaurant manager... I've learnt so much from that, and feel soo blessed to now be able to have my own business, that is built on all experiences I've had through life. There is so much I could say about this... but now I have to get back to work ;)
I just started a new job and I’m in the middle of a Masters Program and I am TIRED too 😅 but you’re so right, work is the VESSEL. It’s not the villain. Thank you for this!!! Let’s get to work. 👊🏼
GREAT CONVO! I love work. Keeps you growing. I used to work at Amazon from 630pm-5am then go to football workouts from 550am - 830am. With summer college classes still going on! EXTREMELY DIFFICULT! But now i know i can handle any work that’s necessary! I love you guys! I’m a pastors kid too so y’all inspire me to do even more in my little city in KY! KEEP LETTIN GOD USE YOU BOTH IN EVERYTHING YALL DO🤟🏾🖤
I just started a job after graduating in December and it took me 6 months to find one and it was rlly hard but I’m happy to say I work a job that gives me creative freedom and I’m rlly grateful :) love the podcast and it always manages to be relevant to my life and current situation
I live in Australia 🇦🇺 and have grownup to work, but I’ve had many jobs some great some not so. But the culture here is changing, I don’t know if it’s the accessibility of carers, education, many left from grandparents or the social media. Go live your life and film it now is catching on too! But just recently I went through a really dark place but I’m here to live again. And shell live with a different attitude of bringing something to the table with All of my heart, All of my soul and strength until the day I no longer can. Because I’m Battle Ready! 😉👍
I think work is so critical. Even God made Adam work in Eden. Aaron just needs to take a vacation and lock his phone up, and babysit Juno for a week. 😂
I think there are different types of tired, one where you work to much and one where you work to little (experienced both). Also you can get physically tired from one job and another gets you mentally. I guess that's why a workout after a hard day at the office does wonders even if you at first don't want to go. Then not all work is fun but still someone has to do it. And it's interesting to see how the workspace makes an impact (environment, coworkers and so on). Enjoyed your talk and topic 👌🏻
Sorry to see that the Clipper’s lost but I am really glad that the Suns won! Rally the Valley! Also, I think that boundaries need to be set in place. I believe that rest and vacay are imperative to success. It would be really hard to sustain working 7-7 without rest because you would get burned out. I also believe in a healthy work/life balance. For me, life is not just about working and making money. There are so many other things that I enjoy doing and I make sure that I have time for all of the things that I love which does include work.
💔ugh same about clips, 7-7 has changed my life for the better. I love getting to work and be with people I love. It hasn’t always been that way but it is now.
You guys reference studies a lot and it would be really helpful if you could site those in the description or something so we can look into stuff ourselves.
