A subscriber saw the roll of tools and doo-dads I take with me whenever I travel for writing which, these days, is frequently.
This quick video shows you what I consider essential to have with me when I work.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. They're very affordable and have helped me out of countless jams. Wishing you the best of luck with them!

Very cool. I use Marvel Mystery oil it's a red oil, that's a Class of oil not just the color. I love it lubs the machine up and it never ever gunks or turns to gum, so once I have cleaned a typewriter and removed all the old oil and gummy gunk out, I go around and lightly re-lube the oil points, and I have had typewriters going for years on what a toothpick drop of the stuff they keep going and no more gummy oil gunk. When I put a machine away, I'll always clean its typeface bars, and set the paper release to on so the rollers are not mashed together. And in the case it goes. I typically will once a month clean the typeface of my most used machine, like right now, Ive been favoring my 1964 Galaxie Deluxe from Smith Corona, very good typewriter. So, I'll do a light brushing of it's typeface usually when im done so the next start I'm able to just load and go. But once a month I do a more intensive cleaning of the typeface with toothpick to pick out the ink. And ill inspect the mechanical parts see how we are doing. Then in 6 months, the machine I used the most will get a full cleaning, full tear down inspection and parts oiling, which is just a tiny drop of Marvel Mystery oil. If needed, Don't want to over oil. Today in fact Ill be working on a 1972 Smith Corona Electra 110, a full service. I bought this machine online from eBay, paid about 40 bucks for it, 20 for the machine 20 for shipping which I'm sure shipping was more....so not bad, dont mind sharing that especially now if you look at their prices at the time that seemed like a lot and a big gamble, but now I can see lol, wow. I bought a 1983 brother EP-20 For a total of 9.03 now you'd be lucky if you'd find one for under 60 bucks, and thats if its in good condition, mine looks like I just bought it yesterday. Anyway, just some thoughts always trying to help, nothing but love here. ❤ And appreciation of course.

@@CreateX3-DamonDiMarco Thank you, cleaned it up and got that ol '72 working and puring like a cat, it actually took technically 4 days to clean it was so terrible this was the finale and hopefully last as it turned out to be cleaning day. God what mess this thing was in. It would be longer than anything I've ever written, hairs in it like Chewy chewbucca was using it, eraser rubber bits in it like they erased right on the roller and swept it into the machine, and then left it, punched out to go grab a new McDonald's McMuffin, which oddly came out in 1972.
