This prototype rack draw is not representative of the production unit at all - but I'm leaving the video up until I can get one of the production design - just in case anyone needs to rack-mount a rugged laptop. As the X500 has become more and more powerful it is a genuine option for deployed computing power - even competing with rack mount computers. The Getac X500 has the considerable advantage of an integrated battery-pack which operated as a UPS system. Deployed racks are often fed some fairly unreliable power, and using a rugged portable in a rack-mount can make perfect sense in some deployed environments. Production unit currently in test for Mil-Std 810G and Mil-Std 461.
