Getaway House EAST Review: Quality Control Issues?? 

They're completely portable, but they have plots sort of made up to fit the outdoor table/chairs/fire pits. They clearly just didn't care is what it seems to me. Doubtful I'll even get any reply from them. It's sad, bc we talked this place up A LOT after our first visit.

There is always more to discover, so I'm not too worried :) it wasn't the worst, but sometimes problems just need to be pointed out! :)

I didn't look out for fishing, but I'm sure there are areas for it! The two "east" locations are fairly close - the other one location is far, in Roscoe NY. 👍🏾

My expectations were way higher, but the cabin was exactly the same as the previous stay. The wood warping is minor, as I mentioned.. no big deal. But clearly the dishes hadn't been washed or checked. Waking up to construction outside is definitely not acceptable and contrary to their peaceful zen mission. Cards should definitely have been there, as the whole point is to do activities away from phones and social media. They have a book of card games, but no cards..then waiting hours for them. We'd come from camping in a tent outside the night before arriving, so that was our rustic part of our trip. It just felt like nobody cared, a far cry from the service we experienced the first time.

It was such a shame too bc we absolutely loved our first stay at the other location! 🙃

The name changes really made it confusing, and the expansion I think spread quality control thin. Honestly you'll most likely enjoy it, just be sure you get all the bells and whistles!! 💯✨

It seems they are referring to both Catskill locations as East, and calling "Western" the new one in Roscoe NY. We stayed at the one on Castle road in 2019 which we loved. The EAST location is the one on Cairo Junction. If you check Google maps, they're much closer together than the new location!

@@drugfreedave so is Cairo Junction the same as the Roscoe, NY location? My reservation is for “Catskills West” on their website in Roscoe, NY. Is that the site your review is about?

No, I've never been to Roscoe Location - they have two locations at Catskill East that they used to consider as East and West but now they don't distinguish between the two. I've only been to the ones in Catskill, never been to Roscoe location 👍🏾

Yeah it was a bummer, especially since we really loved it previously!
