No.Moral of the story-there are evildoers out there who must always spoil everything.It is not really the middle of nowhere since there are other houses there,too..imagine the nerve of asking- Are you alone? Village idiot! If people run the place,he must be thrown out with a police record too.Two people can also be attacked.Just a story.But how did he get in..

This is my favourite comment so far. Veronica (the actor & my partner) actually has spent some time out at this cabin alone a few times when I’m unable to. Every time, these exact concerns cross our minds as an unfortunate reality. Even though real interactions like this (even much less extreme versions) may not happen everytime, they’re not nearly rare enough to be not a very real and constant concern. We are regularly having conversations it feels like almost every month or so, where Veronica will be out at a store and she’s texting me about some creepy dude trying to talk to her, tell her she’s pretty, asking questions. These are things I can hardly relate to at all, but for women can become a shockingly regular situation (shocking to men at least who don’t really ever have to deal with this). When we sat down to briefly plan this, we agreed we didn’t have the tools to capture what horror movies generally go for, whether it be ghosts, demons, jump scares, gore, death etc. But instead chose to focus on a feeling exclusive to women in their isolated moments. I’m really glad you shared this comment, thank you so much, and I’m very sorry to hear that you’ve had incidents that have pulled you from the things you enjoy.

@@coolstorywcraig Thank you so much for that response. It says a lot. It's interesting that there are some men who try to be vicious to women by saying they become much less sexually appealing as they age. But now that I'm /a lot/ older, I am at that stage of life where sexual attention is no longer a common thing. And to be totally honest--I love it. It's almost like being a child again, where I can be invisible. And there is a certain feeling of safety in not getting cat called, followed, or stalked/harassed because I'm "sexually appealing" to men. I do get the #notallmen thing, but the fact is women are most likely to be SA'ed or murdered by a cis man, and that experience is not something men share. Women (and AFAB people as well) are just used to seeing ourselves in media and in reality, abused by cis men--viewing ourselves as the targets of violence. When media/reality is about murder/SA of men, it's most often other men perpetrating it. So they see themselves not only in the victim, but also in the perpetrator. Women don't have that same experience. We really do, to a huge degree, live in two different realities. And I'm glad to hear you say you understand that to the extent you can. I think the film did capture what you intended.

That’s a really good point actually, the flashlight made a lot of sense to us at the time as a way to make it more tense in the POV shots, but I suppose fully lighting things up is how most people would do it. I guess the logic could be that if you thought there was an intruder, you wouldn’t necessarily want to be reaching your hand into dark rooms to flick on a light switch. Idk though, didn’t really consider that aspect of it. The cabin is genuinely old and pretty scarce on lighting as well, but I think you’re right I’m always one for getting the lights on when things feel off haha. Thanks for checking it out!

You bet! This was shot in a small lake town in Alberta, right before it gets cold. The town has very little going on, so everyone leaves and heads back to the city that time of year.

@@coolstorywcraig Hey there's one in every crowd , makes you wonder why these folks are here in the first place . . In their defence some just can't fathom drawing their own conclusions less they see blood & guts. I thought the film good & just enough mystery & tension to do the job. Plus hey we get a good for her ending which in Horror is often quite rare. So for what you had to work with my hat is off to the the writer & all involved.

@@paullevine1813 Hey thanks for this! I totally understand and see where this person is coming from (even if they put it a little rudely lol). You're 100% spot on, we had the option of like, make something decent & reasonable with no effects or spend a ton time TRYING to use crappy effects just so someone can die on screen lol. Work with what you got and make that the best it can be rather than forcing it to be something bigger/higher budget.
