Gethsemane (from Jesus Christ Superstar) METAL VERSION 

The whole show needs a metal version. JCSS is designed to be reimagined into different rock styles but we never got a metal one!

There is 1 moment in ALL Gethsemane covers that makes or breaks it for me. That high note when Jesus screams "why.." You nailed it. Well played sir...well played.

Went to see JC Superstar at the Kennedy Center Opera House sat. night. Found this video after the performance. I have loved all forms music my entire life (55 years) and play guitar. I have never seen a better performance- anywhere, anytime and I have seen a hell of a lot. Words can not do this justice. Incredible.

This version is one of the best I have ever seen since Ian Gilan. I am a big Jesus Christ Superstar fan and I give credit where credit is due. This version is in my top 4 greatest version of Gethsemane of all time. 1. Ian Gilan 2. Sean Matthew Whiteford 3. Shawn O'Donnel 4. Ted Neeley Yes, Ted Neeley is at number 4. He used falsetto while Gilan, Whiteford, and O'Donnel used headtone/throat voice.

Since the first time I saw the movie 30 years ago I knew one day somebody would do this...bring a JCSS song from the rock to the metal era. And you hit it spot on!

Yesssss! great version! I love the metal take on it. During the "I have to know, I have to know my lord"-part, you do a eighth note break in any iteration. After that break, I would use harmonics / Flageolets every second time to make the guitar scream more. The bass plays the normal line, so nothing is missing, but it would give even more depth maybe. just an idea, try if you like it.
