Stretching a 100/80-10 on a Douglas 10x5 wheel. The short style tire spoons (irons) were perfect, and basically essential. I got the Motion Pro two pack... Well worth the $26 even on my budget.
I used www.willtheyfit.com to help visualize how the tire would look compared to a true fatty.

Chris next time you install a tire without irons, use zip ties around the tire in 4 equally spaced parts....the tire slides right on without any worry of damaging the rim. Just did it today on a 12x8

Could a 120/70 10 work as well

I tried all the ratchet strap tricks to get a 140/60-14 on a 8 x 14 Ice Bear Maddog trike rear. no matter how much I cranked on them the tire would just go oblong and leave me with gaps to large. Any ideas would be very helpful.

bitteo I think I'd try Joey's method below this comment.. put a couple zip ties in a row and go around the tire sideways.. obviously you'll need to do this atleast eight places. That's assuming you don't have a solid rim. That's a massive wheel.. I'd also consider just finding someone with a cheetah blaster. The fire method I half ass try in the first 5 seconds of the video should work great with a cheetah.

Appreciate these videos. If I put a 12x5 mini fatty on my ruckus will it lower my top speed?

No it really shouldn't, especially if you use a tire with the same circumference as the OEM setup. willtheyfit.com has a calculator for figuring it out. I wouldn't worry about making it EXACTLY the same size.. just close. Any new wheel/tire combo will be slightly different and weigh different.. so you may neef to retune your weights, so don't be surprised if you do lose a couple mph at first, you can easily tune it back. A drastic change however.. like my very tiny tire.. now that will throw alot off. And to be fair and oversized tire would do the same (if it fit). The GET engine is all about finding the perfect balance in the middle.. the Goldilocks zone.

Just remember, if you do a small tire like this, it'll kill your top speed. I have metropolitan gears I'm gonna try to offset the difference. "Stay Tuned" 😎

@@GETlife how bad will it kill the top end

Gumby Grom the small tire I used brought my top speed down from 47 to 40. If you stick with a 130/90-10 or 120/90-10 you should keep your top speed. I personally just don't like the look.

Was this a 130/90 on a 5”?

@GETlife 5 лет назад
No.. 100/80 on the 10x5. Very very small.

What offset was that rim
@GETlife
@GETlife 5 лет назад
It's the Douglas 10x5 3+2 offset.

@@GETlife I'm mounting this rim on a Met (ruck swingarm) and noticed it seems offset afterwards... haven't really confirmed though. You didn't have to adjust anything, just mount rim + hub and 'plugnplay'?
@GETlife
@GETlife 5 лет назад
@@dot_dash with the kymco hub, it was perfectly centered. There might be a weird offset with a ruck swingarm on the met. Lemme ask my buddy Grant. Was the stock ruck wheel centered?
@dot_dash
@dot_dash 5 лет назад
@@GETlife Gonna test that tomorrow. I have an extra around. I'll report back.
@GETlife
@GETlife 5 лет назад
@@dot_dash hey! My buddy Grant says you need to cut the bushing.. the one on the left motor mount. So it's the one on the ruck swingarm. Cut about 10mm off, slide the engine to the left, and put that cut part on the right side. Then the Ruckus swingarm should be centered.

Probably do this , I dont like the look of a real fat tire
@GETlife
@GETlife 5 лет назад
Just remember.. if you go lo profile on a 10" you're gonna lose top end. I'll be trying out met gears to offset .. hopefully early spring. Another option for you could be a 12x5. With a lo profile tire it won't look fat, and it doesn't require an phatty stretch. I used willtheyfit.com to see approximately how "fat" a tire would look on a rim.. check it out. 😎
