I mean… Geto says “Satoru” in 5 episodes more than Mikasa saying “Ereh” in an entire arc. So if the series was centered around Gojo and Geto, then Geto’s “Satoru” would have been the new “Ereh”
Fun fact: the Voicing directors told Yuichi Nakamura, Gojo's jpn va, to purposely speak in a softer, gentler and "loving" tone whenever he speaks or calls Geto's name. 😭
something I noticed when gojo is holding amanai’s body and the people of the star religious group are clapping, gojo says “you’re late, Suguru” when geto is about to die he reverses it and says “you’re late, satoru”
The fact that it was in his muscle memory to protect gojo just pains me more. He was just used to protecting his best friend and even if he was dead he started chocking kenjaku just to protect gojo
Little correction, Geto wasn't going to die in jjk 0 because of Yuta's final attack. It's clearly stated that Gojo is the one who killed his best friend Geto, means if geto was going to die anyway, why would gojo need to kill him? He was planning to capture yuta again, but unlike previous time, gojo didn't hesitate to kill geto.
And the thing is, Gojo corrected himself and said he was early. Getou came just on time to stop him from killing everyone in the room while Gojo was too late to save Getou from defecting.
@neroisntdead3681 If Yuta can kill Geto, then doesn't it consider shame and humiliating that despite being the 2nd strongest sorcerer in the modern jujutsu world, Geto was killed by the hands of a newly joined special grade sorcerer?
Their names are also just plain similar. LIke. Geto, Gojo, both two syllable names that start with G, and end with an O. Same applies to Suguru and Satoru, both three syllable names that start with S and end with U. I like that detail, seems Gege was really paying attention when thinking of a name to write for the best friend of Gojo.
@Koreyoxd Yea but if Gojo did join Geto there literally would be no one to stop him. Seeing him 1v x all the sorcerers in Japan would be pretty cool, but a purple is enough to finish half of the entire fight
I believe in Japanese a first name basis is usually those who have a very close relationship either as best friends or such. So it's touching in season 2 when they constantly refer to eachother by first name because it shows the close bond they have as almost brothers in arms. Sad to see geto call gojo by first name in the jjk 0 movie only for gojo to only reply by saying his first name then last or saying just geto, shows geto always still veiwed him as a friend but gojo couldn't do it himself because he knew that geto just wasn't a friend anymore to him, despite the memories. I mean he does it a couple times but it's obvious it doesn't have the same intent except for the very last time they both truly talk at the end of 0.
I would still say he saw Geto as a friend as always, it’s just that: 1. He has some resentment towards Geto never reaching out to him for help before Geto finally broke as they were the bestest friends that could call each other by first names 2. Some resentment towards himself for not doing more to help Geto at the time even though he did notice something was off with Geto 3. Gojo has been the STRONGEST the whole time Geto was active but never proceeded to catch him 4. Gojo told Yuta that Geto is his one and only friend, present tense spoiler for manga chapter 236 . . . . . . . Gojo met Geto in an after death world, and when Geto asked Gojo if he felt contented, Gojo denied and said he’d be contented if Geto was there to pat him on his shoulder.
No matter how evil Geto is, somehow whenever he calls Gojo, he always calls his name with a sweet tone In contrast on Kenjaku that tries to mimick Geto when he's trying to seal Gojo around 1 minute, it's a very cold tone
@@paolagracia4876Utahime only calls him "Gojo" for sure. I think Shoko does too. I haven't seen an instance of her calling him by his first name either.
@@paolagracia4876 For example in flashback arc: S2 ep 1, Utahime calls him Gojo. S2 ep 5, Shoko calls him Gojo on the phone to meet Geto before he leaves.
Well… that’s because it’s culturally inappropriate to call someone of Japanese origin by their first name unless you’re family or extremely close with that person. Even if they’re fictional characters I enjoy the fact that Geto and Gojo are the only ones to call each other by their first names. 😊
Fun fact : Geto and Gojo never hate eachother when Geto decided to become opposite... That's why in JJK 0, Geto doing his plan on main purpose not to fight with Gojo not just because he can't beat Gojo, but he just didn't want to hurt Gojo...Gojo knew the plan too, and he trust Yuta to handle Geto
Geto wanted Gojo to throw curses at him when he was nearing his end, because he wanted to be with Gojo like the way Rika is with Yuta... Love is truly the most twisted curse of all, indeed...
Ahh good ol' japanese naming conventions. People in class or office call each other by last names. Only really close people call each other by first names.
Might be reading into this too much but it is kind of interesting that Geto calls out to Gojo more than the other way around... kind of reflective of how Gojo was starting to become unaware of his best friend's state because he wasn't seeing him as often + when Geto didn't have Gojo around to help him, that's when he started falling deeper into his depression. Geto needed Gojo more than the other way around.
They both needed each other. Gojo used Geto as his moral compass at 0:24, which Gege as the author said outright. Geto was like the outwardly caring and responsible one, so he called his name often to scold him, make plans, compliment him, etc. Gojo was more the laid back one. Geto got more into his depression in part because he didn't get be with Gojo for missions anymore so he was more isolated. Gojo definitely missed Geto after he left and had more loneliness without him, which is why he calls Geto his one and only best friend. The manga later goes more into Gojo's loneliness after losing Geto.
Not even when he said "Are you the strongest because you're Satoru Gojo? Or does being Satoru Gojo makes you the strongest?". I mean he called him by full name but that should still count.
Gojo only ever called him Geto when he was referring to him to other people, it was always Suguru when addressing him directly. Geto only referred to him as Satoru. No matter what. It suits their personalites. I would deep dive into this if i wanted to type out a novel on RU-vid
@@springfilterhas a nicer ring than just saying Satoru. It's shorter and even kinda rhymes. Anyway, it's not like it'll be confusing since he's the only Gojo member we know of.
