i had my braces on for 2 and a half years and i just got them off in June, but i honestly miss them 😂😭 i wanted them back on as soon i got them off lol. they're seriously not bad at all. i think they look cute! and you can still eat pretty much any food you want, but not stuff like corn on the cob or caramel. so for anyone who is getting braces, don't be afraid, be excited!!

Hey Candi, something you should know about retainers is unfortunately she will most likely be wearing top and bottom because when the teeth move your jaw will too and so you need to make sure your top and bottom jaw are aligned otherwise you end up with either an overbite or underbite.

The reason why Candi's teeth went back to before is most likely because she didn't wear retainers not because of age. Edit: I had braces from third grade until sixth grade

I currently wear Invisalign to fix my gap and it has done wonders! However the only downside to using invisible aligners is the fact that whenever your teeth hurt Bc they're moving you have the power to take them out if they're uncomfortable (meaning they won't be doing their job) and it's easier to forget to put them back in after you eat. however you get done so much more faster Bc you're changing trays every 1-2 weeks vs getting your braces tightened once a month at the orthodontist. Karli might want to get into the habit of carrying a toothbrush/floss picks/ toothpaste to school because she can't put them back in until after she brushes her teeth or they'll get funky really fast and make her breath bad + could potentially cause cavities. But congrats Karli and good luck on your treatment!

I don't know why, but at my school its a "cool" thing to have braces. I feel like most kids messed their teeth up on purpose. I had the same gap like Karli. I have had my braces in for like 9 months now and I'm really surprised at how much it helped. And I still eat gum and popcorn with my braces, most things they tell you not to eat you can, unless its stuff like corn on the cob

I got braces because I needed and wanted them . I eat corn on the cob nothing happens . I also eat popcorn gum fruits snacks taffy and everything else nothing happened you just have to know how to eat it I guess 😂.

Currently, I'm on phase two of braces, meaning I had a set of braces a few years ago, but now I have them again. I'm so jealous of people who got to have Invisalign, or something similar to that. Why do kids care so much what braces look like? Honestly, tons of people have them, so it's not like you're the only one.

Fr, they have a few varieties, like clear ceramic braces and also regular metal. I love the ceramic brackets because you can choose clear bands or colored!

Tory Graham EXACTLY! Not to hate here, but Karli is a teenager. It's not like she's an adult. Plenty of teenagers have braces, it's not like it's a weird thing. An orthodontist is really the only reliable way to fix someone's teeth, so I don't quite understand why Karli won't go because of the cosmetic aspect. Reliability is a lot more important than looks.

Adam Jansen I think it's a personal decision and technically this is braces anyways. This option is probably cheaper and you don't have to go to a bunch of evaluations and appointments.

i have braces right now and i went in thinking i will only get my gap closed and my over bite fixed but boy was i wrong i ended up needing my jaw readjusted and i have to have my braces for 2 and a half years so dont think it is always that easy but i wish you luck

It's the same as Invisalign's (I think I spelt it right) because my brother has it. But make sure u always clean it good or your breathe can smell really bad. Also depending on how long you wear it, soak it in some cleaning thing that's made for them. It's like a powder and you put it in a small bowl of water and it cleans it overnight etc.❤️

I have used aligners before, the company I used seemed to go out of business and was not very helpful- yes they straightened my teeth, but not fully the way I wanted, so once I finished with them I switched to this company! This company has been awesome! they are awesome, you will love them!!

I had braces for 5 years and it was so worth it. I wouldn't want anything else. Kids aren't responsible enough to wear something like Invisalign. Even adults teeth go back because they don't wear their retainers.

Kylie Marie Micallef no it's not *invisalign. Not even close. Invisalign is over 5000 dollars, I have it. That is a kit they got in the mail.. Invisalign is an ACTUAL clear braces company and is done by a professional. They mentioned the company in the description box. Just clearing things up!🙂

My brother had huge gaps in between multiple teeth b/c he is missing his top canine (idk how to spell it) teeth like there not even in the head, so when he is older he has to get them implanted in his head. i don't think anyone will care but oh whale 🐳

I have had Invisalign for the past few weeks- pretty much the same thing! When eating, it is best not to necessarily give your teeth a full brush after wards because it can really irritate your gums (and they can grow over your teeth more)! I just rinse my mouth with water and my aligners with water and then use a little bit of mouth wash! Just brush your teeth the normal 2 times a day- unless you have something super sugary or like fizzy drink (I think soda or something where you guys are?) just because you don't want your teeth covered by aligners when they're full of sugar! Hope it all goes well :)

I had braces from 2nd to 6th grades and I didn't wear my retainers correctly and they didn't go back as crooked as I started but they definitely changed positions. I was very self-conscious about them so about 6 years ago I used ClearCorrect to invisibly align my teeth before my wedding. It took about 14 months for the entire process. I got new trays about every 4-6 weeks. I still wear my retainers at night religiously. Wear your retainers, Karli. :) and be careful not to throw your trays away. It's very easy to do.

I also had a gap between my front teeth. My orthodontist said that my Lingual Frenum (the thing the connects your upper lip to your gums) was too big and it was actually going down between my two front teeth. He recommended me to get that trimmed, so that is what I did. After that process I got my braces on and I haven't had any problems with the space coming back. Getting that piece trimmed, completely fixed the space between my teeth. When I got my braces off he also put a tiny piece of metal behind my two front teeth to help hold them in place and they have been fine ever since I got them off 5 years ago. I haven't worn my retainer in at least 2 years and my teeth are still perfectly straight!

This is similar to my Invisalign treatment! You seriously have to wear the aligners or your teeth will just not move! So time consuming as I had to brush teeth after every meal and snack but so worth it in the end!! Good luck karli!xx

I had braces for 4 years, and had to have 8 teeth pulled, 2 oral surgeries. Before, I absolutely hated my smile and didn't smile at all. Over the course of my treatment my friends and family noticed how much I was smiling. I got them off about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

I had a palette expander for over a year that was supposed to expand my palette so my teeth wouldn't crowd. I also got braces on the top in third grade, and had them on for a year. I had to wear headgear, retainers, etc. Now I'm going into the 9th grade, and they told me they can't even fix my under bite after all of this. Everything my orthodontist does is useless, and doesent work. $1,000s of dollars later, my teeth are still terrible. I'm definitely going to look into this product!!! Thanks :)

I have Invisalign from smile direct club and for a tip you should buy a dremmal because I aligners dig into your gums and irritate them also puts a lot of cuts in your mouth

I had to have my aligners for 3 months but they weren't done so I had to get a refinement for 2 more months and I have to have another refinement but I have not gotten them done yet but they said 3 more months

So many people are saying just get braces but I believe that this is only about 100$ to start. Personally myself with a family that can't afford 5 grand dropped on braces right now, I know the struggle. My teeth are not perfect. I hate pictures and I hate smiling, so I understand how she feels. Invisalign can be much cheaper then braces. She was talking about her teeth going back maybe cause she didn't wear her retainer or her age. Orthodontist do recommend you waiting about till you're older so all your teeth come in, but it could be cause of the retainer. I'm so happy you guys are sharing this with us because I wanted to try this for myself but was to sketched out because I wasn't sure if it would work and if it was a scam. So Thankyou, I appreciate a lot. I love your videos too❤️

ask for a permanent retainer (it's just a wire, it's the same wire they put on the bottom row. my teeth haven't moved in over 8 years after getting braces. (I wasn't wearing my retainer and asked for that as a replacement). it's so much more convenient, painless, and cheaper!

I suggest getting invisalgn, if you don't like the look of metal braces. It seems a bit more reliable then this just because you actually go to an orthodontist. I personally have invisalgn and I love it! It works great and fast, plus it is hardly noticeable and you can take it out for pictures

wow how did karli do that... when i had to get my retainers i had tom do that too (the impressions) and i hated it. i kept gaging and it was hard for me to breathe lol

Candi, I have tried smile direct club, and it was useless honestly. It took to much time and it didn't help at all for me personally and my mouth was a lot like karli's. I got braces after that and my teeth looked straighter than ever. I recommend braces.

I have braces, but rather than me just wanting straight teeth, I needed them to fix my teeth. I have overcrowding, an overbite, and a little bit of a cross bite.(I also had a tooth that wasn't the right size, but that was something that didn't need to be fixed. I just wanted it to be normal.) I have already had 2 expanders, and a herbst appliance. I got them a little over a year ago, and I really can't wait to get them off. For me, braces weren't just something I wanted. Braces were something I needed, but it came at a very very expensive cost.

I had braces for about a year and a half and had a good experience. I have a permanent bottom retainer and top one for night time and they work well for me. Interesting how similar this process is to the first few times you go to the orthodontist, they did the same thing. Not fun but well worth it!💜

I was nine when I got braces, you guys are lucky. I had a big overbite that every time I fell I would cut my lip open. That's why I had braces on so early for age.

When I was younger, I remember having a little gap in between my two front teeth. No I didn't get braces. After awhile it FINALLY went together and now I don't have a gap anymore:)

I have Invisalign so it's kinda like this but I go to the dentist and they do all that stuff for you! It straightens your teeth like this and when you're done with all of your trays you get a retainer that you only have to wear at night!

You should just make sure she wears her retainers so her teeth don't move back and explain why it's important to take care of ur braces cuz I had bracers for a couple years and have been wearing my retainers cuz Ik if I don't I will waste money and my teeth will move

I just went to the orthodontist to get a scanning for Invisalign,and they said you need to wear them 22 hours a day so you can't take them out for a long time

So far I have had braces for a year now. I'm so used to them that sometimes I forget I even have them haha, I have to wear rubber bands because my teeth on my right side has not line up yet but my other side has. I only have more year to go then I am done with braces forever! (I hope haha) Edit: Also with the food, I still eat popcorn and gum, my orthodontist told me I can eat popcorn, I will just have to clean my teeth if I get any of it stuck (which cleaning them is not hard at all) and gum wise, Karli would be able to chew gum it will just have to be sugar free because sugar gum will get stuck (mostly all gum is sugar free). The only thing I stay away is chewy caramel.

I got braces November 14, 2016 I really needed to get my bite fixed because I had a really bad overbite that could cause damage to my jaw, I just got springs that fixes a bad overbite in the middle of June and I have to have springs on till December, and braces on for another year and a half, if springs don't work they have to break my jaw, I love braces they look good on me I think, and I've wanted braces for so long because I thought they were cool lol! They don't hurt unless they put thicker wires in (tightening). Otherwise there really fun when you get to change colors ! Right before I got springs, the appointment before that I got power chains which hurt just as much as getting braces tightened! If you have any questions on anything just ask me, because I know so much lol! 👍😊😂

i have invisalign and i think i would have this before that! just my opinion when i looked at pictures of those they looked weird. just if you do it make sure you wear them as many hours a day so you don't have to keep them longer!!!

i have braces now and i like how karli is doing new things i just kinda like the feel of someone looking at my teeth and doing things. But i had really bad teeth. maybe it will work but a picture i would have someone look in person at them

i just got my braces off and honestly they are so worth it. if you need them and you can afford them then you definitely should consider them. I feel so much better about my smile now that i have straight teeth

I have had braces for a little over a year now and i see SO MUCH improvement. Braces are really easy and really cute! But you probably cant eat some foods u may want to or brush ur teeth with whitening toothpaste ( thats what my ortho recommends. But YESSS braces for shure😉

I just got braces a few days ago and they honestly aren't that bad at all and I only have to have them on for a year. Also you can still eat anything you just have to make sure you get everything out so that they don't get stuck.
