The foundational classes would be CS 70 and 170 (same as for theory), Math 110, Math 104 (real analysis), EE 126, EE 127 (optimization), and of course CS 189 (machine learning). CS 188, the AI class, is actually quite basic and not super useful. From there there are all kinds of more specific classes: CS 285 in deep RL, various 294's in CV, NLP, and so on; and CS 270 and 281 if you're interested in more of the theory side of ML
