Great video! I definitely want to get into customizing more as well. I did the simple swaps and everything but the paint is another story, lol! I really haven't sat down and tried but I've checked out some sites and youtube channels. Nice custom work though, I look forward to seeing some your new ones!
This has been something I been wanting to for a long time. I used to paint so this is nothing new to me. Honestly even just spending one hour on a figure is enough to get started. I am working on two female characters at the moment.
there is paint guides on RU-vid called how to paint on Warhammer tv the guy uses those paints and it helped me get good at painting miniatures he shows pretty good ways to make it come out the way you would like
Good video! When you head swap and move around body parts; this is where customizing first starts! I'm trying to figure out the whole water mark or tattooing part to get those little decals onto figures; example is an airborne ranger patch or Cobra emblem on the arm of Joe or Cobra figures. As much as Hasbro/G.I. Joe gets on my nerves with some of the stuff they pull; at least they made the modern Joe figures easier to customize! Your on to something here!
After collecting for four years I realized the figures I want are not being made and instead we keep getting rehashed/repainted figures that often are sub par. I am just doing some simple customs but once I get more into this I want to see how far my painting skills can go.
skabcat242 Same here! You want certain figures you are more than likely will have to make them yourself! G.I. Joe is on the back burner for Hasbro! We get certain figures from them but we are not getting them like we used to! Your painting and customizing will get better with time; it will go as far as you take it!
Hi. Love your videos always watch them. I love to customize gijoe and marvel universe figures. And I have learned a lot over the years. And that paint your using is OK . I used that paint as well, but it doesn't dry very good on the soft plastic like the gijoe arms and hairs and heads. Use model master acrylic they dry the best on gijoes and marvel universe and any other figures. Just thought I should tell you becuz of my experience with that paint your using. Thanks for that info. I heard about model masters acrylic but the shop I go to doesnt have it.I should ask them to order it. I frequent figurerealm.com. That actually was one of many sites that got me inspired.
skabcat242 Model Masters is not usually at the sort of stores that carry Citadel paints. You can usually find model master paints at the old school hobby shops, the kind that sell model cars and tanks, or even old train shops. Testors acrylic work well too, infact model masters and testors are the same company. Model masters is just a higher end version of testors. Both are much more durable than the citadel paint
