FMS doesn't give extra marks to non engineers. Also, there is no marks for work experience.For a GEM candidate, 99.7+ should be the target range to get into FMS.
so fms do have the cw quota where there are different priorities that you come in for eg priority 1 consists of children and wife of armed personnel who were killed in action during wartime. Since fms has very less seats and only 5% of that comes in cw quota almost all seats are taken up by priority 1 or 2 candidates and most candidates come in priority 6 which children and wife of retd armed personnel.
Maybe ROI. Maybe Location.. its always a personal choice. But apart from the brand name, there isn't much of a difference in terms of quality of teaching and placements between FMS and IIM ABC (for traditional companies) There are few specific consulting and PE/VC roles that only go to IIM ABC, but again that is reserved for very few (less than 5) students with a very specific kind of profile.
sir, i m 26 yrs , and i hv done diploma mechanical with 6 years of exp. + BSc in phy final yr now,,,,,,,, n im studing for cat ......so would FMS select me ? 10 th-70%, diploma70%,grd-5.5 cgpa....... cld u help me out.
Across most B-schools the syllabus for the first year is common (unless you are into a specialized course). you can chose your specialization (like Marketing, Finance, IT, Analytics etc) in the second year.
