In my view correct ladder as weight and fit for me is All makes as the other side it is not working for me I would consider a Britpart rev L shape type rear light guard adding barrel like tube length's between the screw points to bring it out deeper to clear the fog light as I think it would hit and would match the other side Thanks for another great video also after watching all your older videos over the years your knowledge of all your builds will be telling you what's right 😀
Hey Fraser, I have no intention of fitting a ladder to my disco, but I find these vids really interesting to watch. Some great content you’re putting out 👍
I've got the safety equipment ladder and it is extremely well engineered and made. I also like the fact that you don't need to drill any holes in the bodywork.
great video! Ladders can be useful but use is typically minimal if your roof rack is loaded correctly and in my opinion there are better places to invest so a entry level one is sufficient.
I've always found it worrying when I see people fitting their Defender out with a roof ladder. The problem is that they're too often not considering load stability on a tall vehicle with a relatively narrow wheelbase. YES, a roofrack on a Defender can have a legitimate place, but it's something I've far too often seen massively overloaded resulting in unsafe instability.
To get to lowest rung you could fit a drop down step at the back which gives you a step up about half way between lowest rung and floor (it’s what mine has)
Useless these a safety devices rollcage I think the all makes is the only option. Try light guards on both sides the balance things up. However I have 1 problem with the all makes ladder and metal guards in general, they corrode the aluminium!
I realize there are lots of ladders on the market, just interested to know if you considered a Front Runner one? two pieces no drilling. I have one which I find is great, though I do question the high price and not so good quality control.
We wanted to take a look at this one but couldn't get it in time. However we'll look at this and the Nakatanega ladder in the future as they are both half ladders.
not sure it was alma brand but within in a year the paint peeled and it rusted.. it should have been sharadized adding very little to end cost 🤔 why issue external fittings sheradize or stainless?
I personally think the light guards look okay, however I don't see the point in having plastic guards, I'm looking for metal ones myself for my 130 I'm doing and I may have to have some fabricated
