I can't get enough of Uboat. Loving the Sea Power uploads also. Keep it up Wolfpack. I believe the torpedo missed because you moved was moving Starboard as you launched. Only thing I can see that caused it.
I really like how you start those episodes, it makes it seem like watching a history documentary but more fun and intresting. Also the game is fun to watch.
This made me laugh imagining a guy walking past his buddy’s hot rack, stops, and the guy says “A girl just got on the boat! Hop in and maintain my G7E.”And away they go.
I have been waiting for this. I cannot wait to see you do once you finally get a new U-boat. You already can do so much with just this U-Boat and its 5 torpedoes. Once you have a ship that can carry more, you can really go on a rampage.
Hey Wolfpack I found that I had this same torpedo targeting issue when I played Uboat a few days ago. Might be a glitch in the game not sure but hopefully it gets fixed. Love the vid!
Its odd that these simulations spend so much time with historical accuracy, but always seem to mess up how ships sink. They don't go down in 30 seconds unless a magazine blows up. At the very least make realistic sinking times an option.
I was curious and asked youtubes ai why your torpedos veered off course. Thinking that would produce a silly ai answer. It said you selected the angle on bow to 70 degrees to starboard instead of port and even gave me a timestamp (19:34). I shall now see for myself
Reminds me of how Battleship New Jersey described the firing solution computers as 'precise, not exactly accurate.' because it'll put shots where you tell it to, but if your info is off, it won't be accurate.
Around 10:35 you said you were resetting the tdc to 30kts for thr T2s, but it looks like you instead set it to 44kts. Tube 3 you told the tdc it was 1km away when it was 2. I don't know, though.
Can you control other nearby U-boats? I am fairly new to the game. Your video showed interesting scenes of U-boat action at night, with ships on fire, and so on.
Tactically, why didn't you attack that corvette closest to you, in order to free a more free attack on the rest of the convoy? I've never played this particular sub game, but I'm still wondering.
I just wonder, are there any tips from you regarding visibility in the night? I am always scared that i am going to be detected getting too close. Eother way diving is the last resort because its more dangerous for uboat to stay down while there are a lot of escorts. I play with visibility advice on but i never know when its too close or too far.
That was not Freight 03@11:46. You see the bridge is separated from the rest of the superstructure? The BdU either hates you, or the game's algorithm is getting dumb. Sending type II U-boat in the March of 1941 is insane and makes no sense. Type II is a costal boat.
The last upgrade of the Type II had the range to strike targets out at sea. Why not use them when they're perfectly fine to hunt down ships in the open ocean with after a range upgrade just because they were originally meant for coastal operations?
If you're playing the game like thisn it's like you're playing with modern technology in a u-boat against 1943 technology.. if you turn map contacts off and it's a completely different game getting into firing position calculating the distance and angle of bowel.
You seem to have handled this operation with much less finesse than your usual tactics. Successful nonetheless, I'm a little disappointed. Not so much criticism as it is critique, don't let it hurt your feelings.
