I was married in the Philippines. my choice, she had lots of family. I had just one brother and his wife, they came. and I married in the Philippines.. IT TOOK. 18 months from the wedding to the day my wife arrived in America. the US govt. lost 2 of my documents, and I had to re-submit them.. the wedding was beautiful, outdoors and a pastor preformed it for us. I would not change the way the wedding was. It was a supreme day !!
be careful getting married someone in another country until you will find out what they're nice to you, might just wanna to use you, Don't believe everything. just take care yourself first. don't let nobody ruin your life. worried about you first. you can tour all over the places with your friends without marrying somebody. Be your own boss no one can stop you for doing something to make you happy. Educate yourself first before relationship.
12 months vs 6 .months is not that big of a difference. Especially considering the benefit to her is that her family can attend the wedding. That's much more important than the "inconvenience" to the man of waiting 6 months longer.
my husband and I got married in the Philippines. I was living in the Philippines at the time. gathering all the papers were so stressful including for a Catholic wedding! but our wedding was beautiful, no regrets!
Working on our k-1 app now. I said the same thing regarding getting married in the pi, so her family could take part in the special day. But we have decided to marry in the US. Found a nice venue in New Orleans we are considering. Where did you spend most of your 11 yrs while in the pi? I have spent about 4 months total in Davao. I love the culture in the pi!
Daniel it went good. Took about 4.5 months if I remember correctly. We did get RFE because her visa pics were cut in PH and not cut exactly 2x2 so they declined those pics. That delayed us about 1 month.
I agree with you how to get married in the Phils. My partner of 18 yrs & I applied to get married in the Phils. Got all the necessary documents. We are naturalized us citizen, both divorced, since there's no divorced in the Phils. The city clerk required to get annulment at the court house, long expensive process. Tucked in all the docs when time comes. Decided to continue being partners until we go fly to Las Vegas drive thru wedding chapel.
Kevin I married my Filipino wife in the Philippines and yes you are right, it took 11 months to get her here and I was told with the fiancee visa it was right at 9 months. Also Kevin we also live in Alabama and Aming has been here since July of 2012 . We enjoyed your video...Take care Barry and Aming
@@bluishaqua7758 they are out there and their here in the U.S. dating sites just as well. People have to try and be a little street smart when messing around on these dating sites. Be careful....
As a Filipina I am proud bcoz we do the best effort being compatible to each and every men from different country. we deserve to our tradition a friendly country man , even the other foreign are hate us but it's okay bcoz not all the time my fellow Filipina are perfect. Our hearts is always with you all..Thank you. .again welcome always to us.
Catholic wedding ceremony cannot be done immediately. The church requires, I believe, about six months of the couple having known each other and completing a marriage seminar counseling. Good info on the difference between a fiance and marriage visa.:)
Having the wife's family and friends at the ceremony is so important. I always advise that route. As for invited guests my experience has been to expect at least double the amount or even more. This holds true for any celebration or event where food is provided. The invited ones will almost always invite their family and friends to accompany them. Pinoy's not only love celebrations but they also love to eat and what beats free food? ;-)
What you said is all true but it all varies to you or her. Getting a wedding in the Philippines can cost less than in the US on the average and the good experience of it.But if both of your goal is to be together asap and save money.Fiance petition is better.
Kevin, my fiancee and I are planning on getting married in the Philippines. We've been looking at all of the necessary documentation and it's starting to get overwhelming. Do you have any input there? Also, the seminar/counseling stuff, does that take a long time? I only get a couple/few weeks off work before I have to be back.
Was it hard to find work in the Philippines and how hard is it to get a work visa for there? Also do you think it has any effect on the visa app if you decide not to live there but visit regularly when you have time off work?
I also had to take this premarital seminar here in the United States and so I can understand you not being impressed too much. Me and my fiancé felt the same but it was required.
Hi guys. I have a curious question. I saw your video on citizenship but could not add a comment. I was under the impression that when Americans married a person from another country the spouse was automatically a citizen.
biggest risk is a spousal [ IR-1 ] visa can be denied. any US document must be an original issued normally by the courthouse or secretary of state in the state the document issued in state the document issued in if use by Philippine government of US government. get 4 originals of all. Philippines only country in the world were there is NO divorce.
Thank you for the information that you shared here that i think very helpful to those who are to decide, " which is better CR1 Visa or Fiance visa?'. God bless You and your family!
Hey Kevin if im dating someone over seas would the US allow her To come visit back and forth more freely? Like 2 week vacations? and #2 wouldnt it just be easier to bring her back and have her get married in the US then just have a ceremony bacjk in the philipines ?
Kevin....Help...I am getting ready to propose to my Philipino girlfriend and she wants me to meet with her parents and ask for their permission and blessing...What should I expect or say?...I have no idea how to handle this...Thanks for your advice 😊
important thing is to be legalized as man and wife. going into church is too expensive. there are other options to be married, like going to judge "HUWES" this is much simple and cheaper than church wedding, and also consider civil wedding, but this civil wedding is not like regular wedding that literally 'you" had that schedule. the city mayors conducting this "occasional wedding" ceremony once in a year.
I live in the states. I plan to fly to the Philippines to get married then fly back to the states to apply for the visa. Does customs/immigration require any forms for someone who is entering just to get married?
Sir thank you for your sharing what you had a experience to get married your good wife in phil. Sir i just want to ask about to apply a visa. If i want to apply for spouse visa is how long to wait the to prosces.so where's better spouse or fiance visa. Thank you sir
My question is a little different. Once I am married in the Philippines to a Filipina. Do I still have to go to the Bureau of Immigration every two months and pay to stay in the Philippines? And do I have to retain an Alien Certificate of Registration ( ACR ) card? Thanks for all your time and efforts in posting these helpful videos.
Hello Mr Jake thank very much! Its very helpful, if you can ask some of my questions that is really appreciated. After our wedding dated on July 2018 in Manila, do I need to get fiancee visa even though I have tourist VISA until 2019? Or better to apply spouse VISA when I arrived US? I know I need to change my docs and many to my new surname so does my passport.. Do we need to have a civil wedding Ceremony again in the US?
I have a question. I will get married in the PH. If I move back to the US and stay with family to get the spouse visa process underway can I go back to the PH after sending papers out and let the process wait (do its thing) while being back in the PH for 11 months of wait time?
How can I marry my girl and bring her back with me? I know she has to wait for that spouse visa or whatever but can't she get like a "temporary" visa or something?
I just watched your video on marrying in the Philippines. I can tell you ,getting married in the Philippines is EXPENSIVE I have gotten married in BOTH .In the u.s .,the bride's family usually pays for a good chunk of the wedding. You can help as much as you want ,like your best man's tuckcedo. In the Philippines the foreigner WILL PAY FOR EVERYTHING. She has NOTHING. In most cases ,her parents and siblings do not even have clothes to wear .You will have to buy clothes for the entire family. I can tell you they will not shop at a thrift store They will shop at stores that they have never been in before. The reception ,oh my god. The food and rental of a facility big enough to hold 200 people most of whom she does not know. THEY JUST SMELLED THE FOOD ,How can you turn away kids that have never had a good meal in their life ? I have been there and done that ,and I know .Any one planning on marrying any where in Asia better make sure they have plenty of room on their credit cards. THAT IS CARDS WITH AN S. One card may not do it.
Hi sir May I ask a question about my boyfriend in florida we're planning to marry next year in Philippines what documents he just bring about the wedding..thank you
Hi Kevin, my bf about to visit this May 2018 in our daily communication we even discuss about getting marry I prefer getting marry here while he prefer in US, but in the end I do respect his decision. The reason why I prefer getting marry here because I still have work to do and time flies so fast didn't noticed that will be together soon in God's will, and off course I want to be financially stable by the time I'll be with him though we already discuss about finances and we're both open minded on that. What you think the best way to get marry here or in US? thanks and hope to hear from u.
Wouldn't it be much cheaper to just not get married and live in sin? lol J/K. So what if you would like to marry a filipina and live in the philippines instead of coming back to the USA? Advantages vs disadvantages to living in the Philippines with your wife rather than bringing her back to the states? Thanks for posting your videos!

If an American get married in the Philippines, and then bring his wife to America, is that martiage valid in America also, or do you have to marry in America as well?
Thanks! I told them all I needed was the affidavit, but the local registrar was asking for a cedula. I think there was a misunderstanding somewhere. I very much appreciate your help. Salamat po
Im a US Citizen and im currently living in the States. This certificate to allow me to get married in the philippines, could I get this in a local office in the states or could I only apply for the certificate in the US Embassy Philippines???
+Kevin Sanders (Kuya Kevin) How long was the process (days) to obtain this certificate to marry from the US Embassy? I am limited to only 30 days in the philippines. My plan is to get this done quick and easy for a simple civil wedding.
+Kevin Sanders (Kuya Kevin) Are there other ways I could contact you besides youtube, because I feel I might have more questions to ask. I really appreciate your help and very imformative video.

Kevin Sanders the appointment I have to make with the embassy for the singleness paper. I plan on traveling to the Philippines to get married then come back to the states to apply for the visa.
I was able to schedule mine within 3-4 days. We originally flew to Cebu only to find a note on the door saying "closed til further notice" so we ended up having to fly all the way to Manila. The whole process was a nightmare but it was a nice wedding. We got married in the Philippines cause we wanted to marry in her home church with her whole family.
Tracy Stephens so we're you able to get the appointment and get married within 30 days? because I don't think I can stay much longer on a tourist visa. we were planning on staying in Manila until the appointment. we getting married in the Philippines so her family can see it too. thank you for your response
Be careful with the ones that ask you for money. Many will have a long list of family members that will ask for money. The good ones won’t do that and those are the Real good ones that are looking for a good companion. The Bad ones want money, and more money, citizenship in a better country and a way to bring the hole family out of poverty.
