Welcome back to the channel in todays video we put the mustang on the frame machine and prep it for the custom frame we have to build. Grab Some Merch vtuned.com Follow me on instagram / vtuned
I have pulled wrenches for over 30 years, and judging from your previous videos, it appears to me that your experience level in mechanic/engineering is AT LEAST 10 years in advance of your chronological age. Never stop learning and never forget that there is inherent strength in triangulation. Outstanding job and work ethic!!!
He still does some goofy things, like put washers on his jam bolts for the car braces in the last video lol. But its just him overdoing things as a perfectionist so its not a negative. That’s why hes as skilled as he is already. He knows way more than i ever will and has nowhere to go but up from here.
I think he is doing a good job for his age his dad must be rich i know i couldnt keep my rack tied up for fun MINE used for making money to pay for my kids and there school must be nice
Man you are hauling ass building this thing! Helluva job! Don’t forget to upgrade the oil pump gears while you have the motor out 🤘 Why not buy a tubular subframe and modify it to fit?
Deane Minister these coyotes can take 1000hp on stock long block fairly well if not beat on terribly bad. It’s not a simple pushrod motor like an LS based engine, but can take boost fairly well.
Every Coyote swap I've seen on the early Stangs have a hood with a scoop on it because the motor is so tall. So don't worry about it. Raise that thing up.
My favorite build was a 1965 Ford Mustang convertible by Larry Dobbs, looks pretty factory stock, with a 1996 Mustang 4.6L GT supercharged engine. No hood scoop.
What about doing a dry sump, wouldn't that solve the height issue? Many sports/race cars do this, including Corvettes the last few yrs. Surely it van be done to this mtr Of course it depends if you want to broadcast what's under there. Personally I'd go for an incognito sleeper...
I had almost lost hope seeing that the newer generations were seemingly lost to video games and Iphones...and that the future looked bleak... but these guys have rekindled my hope for the future. Totally impressed with their vigor and their fearless work attitude. Sparks flying and cut off discs breaking and they mow right through it. I know some young people who would be cowering in a corner for fear of the sparks lol.
Finally got around to watching this. Incredible job, love the can-do attitude. Its throwing the curve balls and you're just fielding them. It's going to be so amazing when its done. 😊
Hello! You can purchase a complete front sub frame for that vehicle/engine combo. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel! You’ll have your hands full with the frame rails and the rear section! Good luck and keep up the good work!
Only V can casually cut a car in half. Normal operating procedures. I love how confident he is, even though he's never done this before. Love this build!!
You are on a rocketship to one million subs, very well deserved. What I admire is not only your skill, but your genuine honest and humble nature. Don't change a thing.
I replaced the timing belt, water pump, all belts, hoses, radiator and carb in my b2200 in a week. I sit down feeling so proud like I owned the day and V churns out 100% custom video. Never stops amazing us. I can’t wait to see this fully running!
Justa little advice here man . I have done so many of these cars I cannot count and its tough when you dont have a jig that was built off of a straight car. Get a set of factory rails and you will be ahead of the game. You might have to go whacking on them but atleast you can index them in the car and you have some kind of starting point. Get all the rails from under the seat to the nose for both sides and get the front end core support and lower cross member . That was you have a box of known dimensions to work inside of... You will have to pull strings side to side and from under out the front . That gives you straight lines to work off of... Love the energy boys,,,,,,makes me feel old !!!!
I'm actually lost for words..these guys are so young and they are taking on a highly complex build like this. They diserve all the good things coming their way!
i have done frame work for over 40 years and you have mad skills for your age .one thing don't use a impact on your pinch weld clamps screws up the threads use a big breaker bar and never seize takes longer to set up but its worth it. great job keep it up cant wait to see done!!!!!!!
If one of those things snapped, who knows what kind of damage a falling engine could cause...those screw drivers are nothing more than a plastic handle and a piece of metal!!
I have been a collision repair tech for 32 years love the stuff you do..crazy cool stuff.glad theirs younger guys taking over im 58 and feeling the pain..lol
I have plenty of popcorn- measure as many times as it takes. I am absolutely gobsmacked! I've built a few cars- early on I went through the trouble to graft a 66' Fairlane suspenson and 390 engine into a 56' Ford Panel wagon; you have confidence that makes me want to cry! One day, please do a piece on how you learned all this and your hair isn't grey! MW just went off- more popcorn is ready!
I'm admittedly not a Ford guy but this project is fascinating, you just go at it with no fear, color me impressed. I honestly can't wait to see how the rest of this project shakes out.
Im almost 50 years old, always wanting to do some these types of work, but dont know where to start, i couldn't even do an oil change. You really impressd me with your handy dandy skills.
I’m not big into cars at all but this stuff is cool to watch. watching this build is addictive. This is the ultimate hybrid, old mustang body with new mustang components
Shifter actually looks good where it is as long as it's not behind the steering wheel. Looks like it's slightly in front of it which in my opinion is a good placement. Major props on the build. You guys definitely have my respect. It took me 4 years to restore a '66 Mustang.
I notice that every time he opens up a tool box, every tool is in its place, nothing missing. It takes discipline to put every tool back where it belongs the moment he is through with it, but the little bit of time it takes to do that pays big dividends when he doesn't have to spend half his time looking for the next tool he needs. His entire work ethic is impressive.
Don't get me wrong I absolutely love goonzsquad, but they do the same old minorly damaged cars. On the other hand you like to get out of your comfort zone and restomode a whole car🤙
Been saying the same thing about Goonzsquad for a while now, they need to step it up and try something a little more advanced, not too crazy but at least something classic and slightly more custom. On the other hand I feel like this guy is way out of his depth with this one, just cutting up a car without any forward planning and obviously doesn't have much of a clue about how he's gonna get it all back together. Might have jumped in the deep end a bit. Really hope I'm wrong but I can see this one not ending well.
Your skill level is amazing and the attention to detail you are giving this project will ensure it will be a success. Don't rush it. I don't care how many video's it takes. I will be watching every single one.
I am stating to mock up the suspension and engine location on the bare frame to my 1971 Buick GS with a twin turbo 6.0 LS swap on channel this weekend. Definitely not this ambitious are your project. Keep up the hard work man
Such an ambitious project! It was one thing to replace bad / damaged components, straiten the frame, put it all back together and body work and paint. Quite another to gut a car, cut it in half, build a new frame, and use engine and suspension assemblies that didn't exist 56 years ago.
.......Worked for years in a custom Jaguar shop....you have a superb sense of detail....It's great that you spend time researching the best way to modify and/or assemble the components you're working with...I'm impressed with your skills...keep up the great work ...i'll definitely be following your build....
One of the best projects that I have seen. I don't understand why ford hasn't released an old version car with all of the new technology that they have now. Would be amazing.
the long box tube is great for the front to back and do yourselves a favor and do the roll cage at the same time possibly make it part of the mounting system to mount the top shell of the car to your frame.
Hi Vtuned.. I love the fact you have a vision and are prepared to move heaven and earth to see this mustang become the car you desire... Myself I can’t wait to see you driving it.. 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Hugh respect for you Vtuned, but you need to fit the old shell onto a new style mustang floor pan, Check out URCHFAB to see how he has joined an old classic car to newer style car floor pan,🤙🇬🇧
Actually he doesnt need to do that. That was one way that another engineer used. However, that was likely just made up as he went. He had a plan in advance which worked i assume. Provided vtuned has a plan of action, and researches enough, his basic skill set and abit of imagination will be enough to complete this project.
That is the more "apt" way of doing it, but it's been done, it's being done right now on bifb. This is way more unique, I just can't seem to wait for vids now
I love it when there’s two approaches to this sort of build. Both you and BisBuild are more or less going for the same thing but from different angles. Love this content and hope the two youtubers will meet up with the completed builds for a race off.👌🏼
You are showing confidence in your abilities that l still lack after 50 years. ( in spite of building multiple award winning restorations that have gone world wide). Great stuff.
10:15 is the spookiest thing I ever seen. That screwdriver shaft or handle could snap... I'm a retired Ford, Lincoln, Mercury technician, and have seen my share of "accidents", one unfortunately deadly...
I am absolutely amazed how much work you are putting into the custom rebuild.... Keep up the good work! I'm totally enjoying what you are doing and you've definitely got my attention.
Nightwolf 88 ➡️ I don’t mind the dang son from the goonzquad and the other words they frequently use ., what bothers me now from them is , they use to be like vtuned they would get right to work and there was no bull crap . They would accomplish a lot in one video . But ever since they got too popular and have millions of subscribers, they don’t accomplish much on the videos because most of the video now is them opening packages 📦 of all the parts they have ordered and talking gibberish.
@@Voltrondefenderoftheuniverse I get annoyed with goonzquad when they put lift kits on a truck that doesn't need it and they don't work as hard anymore vTuned just gets to work
For custom cowl hood, cut the top off of two 66 Mustang fenders at a forward sloping angle. Then combine them with sheet steel. A friend did it to his 89 and it wasn't light, but looked OEM.
Engineers at Ford with MBA's and years of experience designing chassis etc..vTuned "It's the first time I've built a custom subframe" and didn't bat an eyelid; what confidence this kid has.
I Enjoy your build its great to see younger people get into this field. Wear a skullcap or bandana when you weld and grind so don't catch your hair on fire!
I was totally impressed with that frame machine when you straightened the frame on the Mustang I couldn't believe it there that is awesome so cool that you can do stuff like that and have access to these machines thumbs up keep up the good work I can't wait to see this project finished
God, the editing on this series is brilliant! The best build in a long time. It will be fun to watch both this one and BisforB with the other Mustang. Great planning. 😏
