Thank you for encouraging new drivers. I am older but I am practicing a few times a week. I enjoy driving but not every day. I need a few down days. Two days of school and two days of work. We need to rest and not over-extend ourselves. We need downtime too.

had a drivers Ed drive today drove on the freeway! almost done with my drives , I test next month!

good luck!! i just took mine and passed, i promise you no matter what state you're in its really not difficult at all. as long as you dont do any automatic failures (rolling stops, etc) and you can drive the vehicle you'll be fine. they allow a lot of small little mistakes, just try your hardest not to stress TOO much!

you have the seat belt in the lower position, raise it up, the closer the neck it sits the safer it is, if you have it too low then the risk is that it slides off your shoulder during an accident, and then it can hurt you instead

when you back up just look in the mirrors without turning your face back putting your hand on the front seat and look back just look in the mirrors or reverse camera

I wasn't as afraid of driving as some other people that I know (I wanted to drive right away and I got my permit as soon as I could) but, what I know really helped my friends who were a little more timid with driving was just getting more practice and comfortable with their car without the pressure of parents or traffic around! So, if your parents/guardians are okay with it, practicing and learning the car in your driveway (where its legal) or in a parking lot so you can feel better with steering control, turning, and generally not feeling like you are going to kill or hit something every time you go behind the wheel! I'm sure the more you drive the more comfortable you will become!! :)) I hope this helps and I am sure you will overcome the fear and be a fantastic driver!!

I got my permit on June 22 . What tips do you have for me as it relates to driving? I am actually taking a driving class on July 8th.

Might be a month late but CONGRATS GIRL! I'm working on getting my permits right now I hope I can get my license soon :D

No problem! And thank you I'll try my hardest best I have to take a practice permit test everyday and watch videos of how to drive so hopefully I'll be just fine ^_^
