I’ve heard about this plane interview before, or read about this journalist being confronted… and threatened to take his tapes. Talk about an ackward position to be in. Here he is stuck way up in the air on the chariot plane… no where to go, everyone is looking at him like he’s an asshole. I didn’t even know he got the tapes back and the article got written after all. 1977 tour was nuts and not in a lot of great ways.
Btw-just because Led Zep DIDN’T acquiesce to this grifter of the highest order DOES NOT undercut my point. In fact, it UNDERSCORES it: had Zep played ball, there’d be, by a conservative estimate, umm one thousand and 2 Zep tomes penned by Rosen…with another on the way by your manna’s next birthday. Rosen is THAT level of shameless access peddling. I bet Eddie Van Halen never even knew his name!!!!
The ultimate Led Zeppelin book is Hammer of the Gods. It's the ultimate piss-take and really does hammer the 'gods' back into a moronic mortal place lol It's probably banned now lol. It's the blueprint for the Spinal Tap movie to cruel for release.😂
It's still available just fine, even in different languages. The book isn't even that bad. It even downplay Paige being a kidnapper and rapist, among other very nasty things about this disgusting band full of egomanical junkies
Rosen was/is? such an obsequious, sycophantic squealer of the highest order. He’d GLADLY turn his personal, hours-long interview tapes of an artist/band OVER TO the artists/band themselves---JUST AS LONG as he had continued, sustained access to said artist to launder his next round of faux-intimate/accurate at-the-behest-of [insert artist] articles/books to write. Point being-Rosen is ground zero for the dearth of objectivity in journalism. Dude would’ve, if pushed even further, tried to sell his soul on the market OPEN ONLY to the underworld to interview Led Zep in the round individually and as a full band. FURTHERMORE-Rosen served to GLEEFULLY and INSCRUTABLY, with nary ANY pushback, serve as the never-ending pump of Krispy Kreme glaze on ALL things Eddie Van Halen. And we all saw how the 80’s unfolded….let ALONE EVH’s personal life. Where was Steve Rosen then, tone-chasing up his own arsehole? Eddie needed a straight-shooter friend in ‘86 as well as 2004/05/06 …Was Rosen merely tone-chasing the rhythmic cadence of AA speakers? Doubtful. Rosen is a taker of the highest order masquerading as a caretaker…and it’d be laughable if it wasn’t so gd unforgivable AND GROSS!!
