so here's a tip for when she is sleeping, my dog it 3 years old and when she was just a baby like Ellie and woke you up to screaming and stuff, you have to leave her there, she will start thinking that when she cry you will come right to get her, she has to learn how to sleep on her own or else she might depend on you, we had to get a trainer for my dog and this is what she said, so try it out and let me know how it goes!

I have one unsolicited tip for y’all and that’s to teach her “spot” like her bed or kennel. So when people come over you can tell her “spot” so she’s not running and jumping on people. Also, it’s good to tell her spot before eating and then use a release word. Obviously she’s very young but Goldens are SO incredibly intelligent. I’m so excited to see her grow!!!

Puppy tip: when they start crying at night just let them get tired on their own and they will eventually fall asleep ( I’m not sure if this works with all dogs but it did with mine🤷🏽‍♀️) this is so they won’t get used to being let out their crate every time they cry. Btw she’s sooo cute😫💞💞💞

A good tip is to put the crate in your room so that she can smell you. What happens is that when they’re in another room they can’t smell you. They think their alone so putting it in your room helps them sleep better. :) it worked with my golden and she’s 6 months now.

So. CUTEEEE😭🙌 Tips for bedtime: ----------------------- - Getting a black out top to put over the kennel. (Has the same effect as blackout curtains for baby’s) - playing sleeping music when it’s time for bed. - putting her to bed at a certain time everyday (she’ll get used to the timing) - Ignore the whining. It’s difficult and annoying but (same with a baby) when they cry and you immediately tend to them; They’ll begin thinking everytime they do that you’ll come, and start depending on that. Potty time tip; - After she eats, leave her in the kennel for around 20-30 minutes, and then put her outside. It becomes a normal routine, and the first 30 minutes is giving her some time to digest and calm down. - Make sure when speaking to use key words such as “potty, or bathroom.” “Time to go potty!” Or “You wanna go potty?” Doing this will become part of a routine, and help her in understanding she’s supposed to used the bathroom outside :)!!

She is beautiful here's a tip golden retrievers are very intelligent so here is a tip if you guys let her sleep in the bed not every owner lets their dog sleep in a bed but if you allow Ellie to sleep in a bed try to teach her spot so she knows that when she lays in the bed she's not laying on your pillows or right next to you she knows that wherever you want her to lay and call it a spot

Ellie is so adorable, tip: when ellie drinks water you have to put her outside for that she does not pee inside so she can know because most dogs when they drinks water they pee, love you guys hope this tip helps.

so happy for you guys!!! I have a now fully grown golden retriever and when she was a puppy we would also leave her in a crate at night to sleep but we would cover it completely. a trainer recommended it and she eventually got used to it and slept through the night!! just a suggestion tho💗

I have a tip for u guys idk if this will help but when she cries at night let her cry and don't take her out bc when she gets older she will get used to you guys getting her out lmao but it's up to u guys

Tip: don’t let them sleep throughout the day because at night they can’t sleep! Another tip: when you spray that stuff outside your supposed to wait at least 15 min because they smell and honestly it was a bit to early to put her inside and that’s why she peed! Lol

I’m so happy for you both!! my puppy was the exactly same way, cried in the middle of the night for a couple weeks. But you should try and teach her that crying will only give her a potty break and then it’s back to sleep that way she doesn’t get used to playing in the middle of the night. beautiful puppy though!

hey! i woke at a vet clinic and just wanted to say some things... puppies are supposed to be fed 3 times a day(about a cup for each meal) and maybe a little snack at night. When she’s sleeping in here cage try to ignore her so she doesn’t think you’ll come everytime. and in the beginning take her out to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. Love you guys and she is so precious!
