LIving in the wilderness of northern Rockies, BC, yet IN a tight-knit community. It is honestly the best of both worlds, always having people stop in, talk gardening, projects, life. I love my 'bubble' although sometimes I do yearn for greater numbers of young families for my boys to grow up with. But would I move closer to a city? Nah. The loneliest I ever felt was living in Vancouver surrounded by people.
yea, I don’t think one has to live in a city to have a tight knit community around them. It’s almost the opposite, I’ve always found that strangers in smaller towns are more willing to stop and chat and be neighbourly than strangers in a crowded city, where the high cost of living has everyone busy and stressed out

Ahhh seasons of life. When I was young I craved community, then I wanted to live far from civilization and did for many years on a farm. Now I crave community again! Go with it! Isabel, I hiked the PCT in 2022 and Stehekin was my last real stop as the northern terminus was on fire. This video brought back so many happy memories! I live on Vashon Island and we have a very wonderful community here. I live off of a gravel road, but know everyone on it. It’s rural, but close to the city - just a ferry ride away. Congratulations to you and Logan - I wish you a long and happy life together. ❤

I make RU-vid videos in a similar spirit as you and just finished building my little tiny home out in a mountain valley next to my best friend and close to family - previously we had lived in a beautiful home in the country but were so isolated which was part of the reason we moved. Congrats on your wedding! You brought back a lot of good memories of Stehekin. I was one of those PCT hikers (2019) who walked from the border of Mexico dreaming of the bakery. Sadly, I only had 15 minutes to get off the shuttle bus and grab whatever I could off the shelf to eat later on trail. It was glorious, but didn't get to order anything and sit down and enjoy it. So it was nice to see your footage. Maybe that's my sign to go back, on the ferry this time!

OMG, I can feel how surreal it still must feel to you, as you keep calling it "a wedding" or "this wedding" rather than "my wedding" or "our wedding". It looks like a very special and beautiful celebration of you and Logan, I wish you all the happiness in this world and I am looking forward to next week's video. I got married a couple of years ago in autumn and we ended up just being 4 people and a dog (including bride and groom!) and somehow I had wished to have more of the people I love around, but it was still a very special day.
