Another quality episode. I'd rather hear you guys dive deep into the weeds if you're going to promote Driveline processes, which are based on technology/information that most of us don't have access to, if it helps the general audience have a better understanding of the points you're trying to convey. Not saying it needs to be an hour lecture, but a segment? My only criticism, sometimes you guys take a simple question like "throwing a slider, good or bad" and you you go into a tangent that demonizes the person asking the question. That's not going to encourage interaction from your listeners if you patronize them. My son throws 4 pitches (4 seam, curve, cutter, change). He does not throw a slider because I haven't taught him yet. My question never stated my approval or disapproval. I simply asked about the data. I wanted information from a source that I assume has access to state of the art technology before comfortably making the decision to teach him. No pearl clutching here. Last thing, when the audio goes wack, a cardboard cutout of Darth Vader sitting in the chair would be a nice way to troll yourselves.

Referencing the stress data, does arm slot have any affect on those numbers in general and for specific pitch types (3/4 slot and fastball vs over the top and fastball)? What about natural supinators vs pronators? Assuming the studies were this detailed. I'm wondering if the industry gets to a point, with the appropriate data, that we teach kids pitch types that fit their arm slot and wrist angle that reflect the least amount of stress, if there is such a thing. Again, not pearl clutching. Trying to think a few steps ahead.

12:20 Spondylolysis - my new word for the day 13:00 How do you get an 8 year old better? #LTAD #DefaultToFun #KidsAreNotSmallAdults 3 big myths of youth sport: * Junior success leads to senior success. * More is better. * Mistakes are bad. While understanding this is a youth baseball academy podcast, it's hard not to default back to a discussion on basic motor competency & functional movement. After 'coaching' kids across multiple sports in the 'rec league' space, the prevalence of children with less advanced motor skill competency/basic fundamental movement skills seems to be increasing year on year, and there is definitely a correlation between this and their physical activity level, cognition, and social-emotional health. I find, in some cases, the sport specific coaching almost has to take a back seat to simply guiding them through the basics of how to move their body through generic athletic activities. Better for long term development, but difficult to show short term results. 46:48 Freezeframe 51:18 Deven: "Oh no.." 52:17 The return to recording in a toilet, underwater, with a squeaky stall door! #technicaldifficulties
