What convinced you guys to move out? My husband and I are heading to Buckley, but we're a bit indecisive on if we should go for an apartment in Aurora or go for on base housing.
We moved to green valley ranch about 20 minutes from base! It’s a good amount of separation! We did on base living for a year. It was more convenient than any to be honest. BUT my wife and I don’t have kids so it was just to much money and space for what we needed. Every time she ranks up they take more for the same house. And also she was a e5 and we were living in e4 housing still paying the e5 price. Also the electricity was WILD. Just very unorganized. Supposedly they’re making changes now but I’m not sure how that’s going! Overall the experience was fine. Better than I expected out of base housing. Maintenance was always great for me. It was just the housing company in general when it came to utilities that seemed not good to everyone! I definitely think if you have kids it’s worth it! Cause off base would be so much more! It was just us and the dogs so not worth it for us. We ended up getting a one bedroom apartment and we’re thriving.
