by no means , you are talking to yourself Stephen. Love how honest your contents are. In fact, I always wished there is someone crazy like me who can do the contents like this. I live in Europe, so not an English speaking country + I ref in local language in Czech. So another obstacle on top of a hard job. Keep these contents going, and i love watching them !!!
Thanks Steve. I love your videos to prepare for games and videos like this to reflect after. My last few games were rough. I missed an easy yellow because I hesitated. And my last game I was out of rhythm and couldn't get a good flow. This helps a ton. Thanks for all of your content. I recommend your videos to all my fellow referees.
This happens everywhere, like first team selection, in the workplace, even dating. Not knowing why makes it harder to move on and figure out how to improve. But that’s okay. It is good to not have a map and self reflect. Sending positive vibes!
Thanks for making a video about this, it’s some thing that effects me frequently. Not getting kicked off games, but just getting in my head about how people are judging me. And I would have to ask them personally and they would have to be honest with me for me to have any clue the truth. :-) But the main thing I liked that she said is for somebody to watch your game that you respect, I actually don’t have that many things that sting very much when I respect the person. in Oklahoma, there’s not that many referees that I would like to hear their feedback. But there are a few, and they’re not referees that are in charge of anything. Most of the guys that are in charge of things in Oklahoma. I don’t really respect their opinions, generally speaking or just how they go about delivering them. But me personally I don’t want any feedback from anybody that I don’t ask for feedback from. But I’m all about feedback from people that understand where I’m coming from and that we have a good rapport.🤘
My ego gets in the way when I ref. I too often have to be right and get upset too easily when challenged. The one place I do well is game selection. I look at getting moved off a center or ar as a place to learn. I just have to put that back into when I am reffing.
worst yet..when you take your ref exams you only know your grade of results..I'd like to know what I got wrong ..maybe there's a glitch in the exam process..or if I got the question wrong, let me know which one it was so I can learn from it ...very silly
