Limited to 40 units and all sold out. 830HP naturally aspirated V12. Sequential race gearbox. A carbon cell so strong that it meets FIA prototype regulations, as a GT. Bodywork so wild it makes 1500 Kilograms of downforce at 150 mph. And for $2.5 Million, you don't even get to take it home. Like Ferrari's FXX program, Lambo keeps the car, sets up track days, and provides full support from Squadra Corse. The SCV12 Essenza is the wildest Lamborghini in history, and we got to see what it's like on the track.
Lamborghini provided transportation, track time, and trackside support for this video.

I love watching a "normal" person drive a full-blown racecar like this. Matt, you have more track experience than an average person, but you don't race professionally. People don't really appreciate the amount of skill it takes to fully control one of these incredible machines. Not just the skill, but they are also very physical. Great video and holy shit this car sounds and looks incredible.

The problem is that little infield is way too slow to get any real downforce working. Couple that with tires that are heavily heat cycled to death and that car is going to be a handful. Great sound though and you handled it well.
@TML34

I would say there’s likely not enough heat in the tires. But yes, definitely not able to utilize the downforce. You’d be quicker in a race spec Miata. 😀

These thumbnails from the last month are really off-putting and have been making me think your videos are some of the low-end "Voice over press B-roll and other people's content" videos that RU-vid throws up some times. At first I was thinking it was totally the wrong track for the car, but ultimately I think it was probably a smart move for Lamborghini to pick such a tight (i.e., slow) track to hold a press event for a machine that is this fast and demanding of the driver. This thing is like a concept car from Gran Turismo, but in real life.

This thing smacks of Zonda R... NA V12, carbon everything, complex cantilever suspension setup, transmission is a structural member, same crazy mental raw intensity, expensive as fuck... As soon as you showed the engine 'bay' with the suspension and coated exhaust, I was reminded of the Zonda R's Nürburgring record video. Then you started it and let it sing. Yep. Same brutal sound, too. Even the gear whine and shift clunk is reminiscent of the Pagani. Absolutely awesome car, and given the complete mismatch of a track you had to drive this beast on, you did a commendable job with the reigns. Most non-professional-racecar-driver individuals would've completely binned it after the first corner, including myself. Good on ya for leaving the 'whoopsie' moment in, too. One thing I might suggest: While I like and appreciate your 'stream-of-consciousness' type of content when you're out mobbing in the canyons in all manner of 'regular' (and not-so-regular) cars for One Takes, for this kind of car and setting, I really don't mind if you don't say much or anything at all while driving it. Then, like you mentioned here, dump your thoughts after it's over and you're back in the pits. I think for this level of automotive content, you should prioritize your focus on driving. Perhaps a compromise would be to do one full lap without trying to split your focus between the camera and the car so you can get more into the zone. Regardless, thoroughly enjoyable video. More of this type of content please! Cheers from frigid Canada :)

@@MaxB00M the only actual conversion was the P1 GTR, whereas they put lights and blinkers on a track-only car and registered it (around 6 of these total iirc) .
