Thanks for posting. I feel your pain. I sunk a DR 650 in a creek crossing that was normally 18 inches deep but thanks to some beavers was 4 feet in the center. You will carefully check out mud holes in the future. I walk and analyze every creek crossing I do. Heck that’s what adventure riding is all about. You won’t ever forget this one! 😊

Good on you for sharing that humbling experience. Put your local Rock Crawler club on speed dial. Those people live for rescues. Ditch the tank bag, stand up more, and use the throttle to get some weight off that front tire in those washouts. You flamed out. Get on that throttle and get the front wheel up. in 1991 i was riding my 88 husky te510 wc 4t near washoe lake in carson city nevada and i hit a patch of quicksand in the road,the bike sunk about halfway down and i was alone and 55yrs old ,it took me about 3 hours to get it out using a piece of plywood that was laying nearby..when it was out i was completely exhausted and i had to work another hour to clear the chain so i could ride it out of there...wont forget that one for a while..im 85 now and still riding everyday on a husky 150 2t..greetings from the philippines middle aged moto

I can only imagine how helpless you felt based on your comments right after the tip over. Congrats on getting it cleaned and sorted out to ride again.

It looks like you need some practice lifting your bike. For a bike that light, you struggled a lot more than you should have picking it up the first time. You could look into possibly finding some local dirt riders that you could tag along with that might teach you some techniques that you have not thought of trying. I am glad it all worked out in the end.

Dude, practice more on dry before you ride into forest. Also this is really light bike, you should be able pick it up in no time. BTW these are very bad off-road tyres.

I think riding in the middle might have caused the first one, there's more grip where the tyres have cleared a path. Glad you got out ok.
