Holy crap man I've been considering an hx stomp recently because A) good modeling is finally affordable, and B) I haven't bought an amp modeler since the pod xt... 20 years ago. I can't believe they can sound like this, I'm too excited.
Your backing tracks are sounding good, too 🔥 BTW, I haven't been playing through any other pedals since I picked up that Baghdad - everything @ noon/1-ish - gain @ 2, and depth @11) 🤘💥
The HX stomp is genuinely awesome, and those Dragonauts sound perfect in that EC 256 bro! Sounded great too when you did some faster riffing and leads not just the doom riffs
Nice Demo, but I prefer pedals over software programs to get my tones. Would love to get the DiD Bagdad someday. But in the meantime, it's my FE Drone Master, Kuro T120, and FE Riff Guardian for High On Fire, then I switch out from the Kuro T120 for the FE FET120 for the Sleep Tones. I also have the luxury of instead of using the FET 120, using the Frost Giant AoR pedal for early Sleep tones.
Damn you're fully stacked! The cool thing about the stomp is it has an fx loop so you can tun those preamp pedals into the fx loop and replace the amps with it. I still prefer amps myself. Something about a big box with knobs is so cool
Pretty close. Close enough for anyone without a record deal. Whatever that’s worth these days. Guitarists in the doom scene seem most opposed to using the Helix and the like and say it can’t approximate doom tones. I don’t own or need one myself, but after hearing this, if I was an apartment dwelling guitarist, I definitely would.
Been watching your channel for years bro, great vid as always! I actually just bought a BAT Priestess based on the demo video you did on it. I have been using the Stomp to record tons of death metal but have had a tough time dialing in a good doom/stoner tone, so this is a big help!
@@TheDistortionPrinciple Starting to think that the 200 series from LTD is the best and once you ungrade to locking tuners and a better bridge pickups its a beast. BTW I had to return the RRT3, too many QC flaws.....bummer
@@TheDistortionPrinciple Yup, I also had to return an EC-1000T FM BLKNB Korean made, that one really broke me, because it had some of the worst QC flaws plus some really big chips in the fretboards, I'm surprised they let that one out of the factory. Luckily Thomann has some of the best customer service out there. But I think it's a gamble when you buy online, and it seems that 1200 euro guitars don't assure good quality anymore. I hope 2024/2025 will wake these companies up a bit.
Man that pedal continues to impress me. To my ears, You have nailed the Pike sound. Its not an easy tone to accomplish without the Baghdad. I see myself buying a HX 1 in the near future!! Awesome demo sir i enjoyed watching it!!
